new slp cold air tube setup
hey guys i was looking on the slp web site and i saw a cold air tube similar to one in the tech articles. i built a cold air out of 4 inch aluminum dryer tubeing and it cracked so i only used it for a week and i taped it and only use it at the track. has any one seen this cold air setup or tried it? i an curious about it because my car idols so much better with the cold air setup on it. here is the adress to the setup.

I am still a firm believer that custom cold air setups are the way to go. I have a formula ..but...what I did is this:
Cut a hole in my passenger side air deflector and mounted a black 45 degree tube in it. Connected dryer hose and ran it up the fender and bolted it on to my stock airfilter where it goes to a K&N. It doesn't get any colder than that.
But I guess for the convenience of the SLP would be better...but my kit only took 20 minutes .

The SLP kit looks very clean and looks like a simple job. I just purchased the old style Cold Air Intake kit from SLP and it worked wonders. Car ran 10-15 degrees F cooler with the kit and throttle response was greatly improved. I picked up .5 mph in the quarter mile on that alone. I would stand behind products from SLP. They know their stuff. Their products are very reliable. I have experienced gains from all of their products. It's about time that a company designed a tubular type intake for our f-bodies.

Personally i like the idea of a "cold air box" Steve has an awesome one here that im going to try to duplicate. http://members.nbci.com/scauffiel/index.htm With the exception that i might add some dryer hose to feed up to the "box". That way not only do you have cold air coming in from the rear of the hood, and sitting in a cooled resevoir...you also have air being sucked into the resevoir from the front of the car. Now if i could only finish my shift kit installation so i could start on that project.
