You are going to get a lot of differing opinions on this, I have a shorten uni-steer pinto rack in my car for the last seven years, also I have Race Craft shorten 2" drop spindles, I have had zero problems and mine is a street only car

Can I ask how you like it on the street?? I've been flirting with the same idea just haven't seen too many reviews. I personally would love to get rid of all the power steering stuff. thanks for your time

I enjoy it, but you have to like manual steering. I made one mistake, I bought a smaller steering wheel and it made it difficult to steer, went back to a larger one and the problem was gone

Re: Rack and pinion

I'm also curious about this! They are selling a kit on hawks 3rd gen, they say that its even easier to steer than with the power steering...
what's it like with the transmission ratio? what does it feel like? do you have a better feedback on the steering wheel as well?

I have no experience about the hawks stuff, and about the steering wheel, either keep the factory wheel or don't buy one that is smaller in diameter than the factory wheel
