hawks thirdgen firebird and camaro aftermarket vendor
I tried to get a hold of them for the past three days. I was going to order the ram air 2 hood w/the cold air intake. Tried ordering overthe internet, but had to call for shipping. Day one...Beep Beep Beep. This number has been disconnected. Day two. I get some scary hillybilly sounding answering machine. Normally I would of left a message, but Im stationed in the middle east and trying to order parts for when I come home. So I just tried again and Im back to the whole Beep Beep Beep thing again. Do these guys not want business or what?

Hi iroc2nv, if i remember correctly we have spoke with you several times via email and by phone, you emailed us both times about a Ram Air Hood WS6 style for a Camaro not an SS hood, I know you emailed us a few months ago, I believe in Aug. about the Ram Air II Hood and we got the shipping quote from our supplier and we emailed it to you, then last week you emailed about the same Ram Air II Hood November 2 to be exact and we had to email our supplier again to get another shipping quote and we called him, he never got back with us and we are working to correct this issue. We have numerous customers from Canada, however when we have a supplier that ships these hoods directly, we have to get a quote for shipping to Canada and without that quote we cannot know what to tell you for shipping. We don't want to overcharge or undercharge. We work very hard to keep ALL our customers happy.

ok. I also tried to order on line. I think I put it in last week. I requested a total for shipping on the same hood. Nothing yet. Not even an email saying they would get to it. I think these guys do not like me. Im gonna call once more at the end of the month after I order my ramjet. I was planning on having the hood by the time I get home in December.

I have never had a problem with parts or service from Hawk's; I have been dealing with Bruce ever since he went into business for himself. He will always go the extra mile, but keep in mind that Hawk's isn't some huge corporation with 200 sales drones ready to take your order. Heck, call or email Year One and see how long it takes for a reply. Bruce and his wife BJ will bend over backwards for you, but keep in mind they're only two people. Trust me, Bruce isn't prejudiced against anybody, not even Canadians
#12
I also think Hawks is a great place to deal with. I don't live far from them, and I have been over there a few times. I can tell you they do stay really busy. Like the other guys have been saying, it is just him and his wife. I'm sure they aren't ignoring any of you on purpose.

They had another lady helping out on the phones, but she just quit. Heck, if I didn't love my job and live a little too far away, I'd go work for them myself !

Joe,
I tried contacting you on camaroz28.com and you're not replying, however I see you're posting here...even today.
Did you send my money order back yet or not?
Thanks.

I sent Hawks an e-mails asking if they had the T-Top weather strip in stock and for a postage price as I'm wanting to order and they never got back to me. e-mailed them again and still nothing. Apparently my money isn't good enough.
So, anyone know where to get a good deal on a complete GM weather strip package? Hawks sell theirs to people with better money than me for $247.00.

I have ordered a full set of 4th gen seats from him with great results. Last week I ordered a fiberglass aero wing from him. He was nice enough to ask me to call him and he told be about the GTAUTO guy and ask if I would like to order from him. He told me that he is having his own mold made to produce the wings and production is about a month away. I wasn't billed just put on the list to get the first one They are good people, they are just extremely bussy. Give them a break, and be patient.

Ive been buying parts for 18 years, and have dealt with dozens of suppliers, and have gotten better service from Hawk's than anyplace I have ever dealt with. They're good people.

I called this morning, Bruce answered on the 2nd ring, he verified a part was available, he answered a technical question and then asked me to place my order online...I did so and got instant confirmation of my order. The entire process took barely 5 minutes! Can't wait to get the part

Well, it's a whopping 2 days after I placed my order and the part is sitting right next to me. Great first impression. I'll definately order from Hawks again!

I just ordered something from hawks too..
GREAT service. You do get much faster responce via telephone, but usually within a couple of days you have an e-mail responce also. I would deffinitely buy from there again.
Shipping was very fast, and everything was in order, for the most part. I had the wrong windshield wiper motor and Bruce told me to not worry about it. I should have the correct one in a couple of days.
Thanks Bruce.

gotta put in my good word for Hawk's here.
Hawk, I don't believe you've seen the pics of the interior yet. But thanks for the seats and interior panels. You guys rock. Will receive my business for years. How did that ls1 formula turn out? Hope he wasn't too made I took his seats
to clarify on why they rock - they didn't send me the wiring I needed, no problem. they sent it for free to me. Then I realized I didn't have seatbelt guides. No problem. I sent him 5 bucks for shipping and he sent them to me. Overall, Bruce is a great guy and wonderful to deal with. I wish him continued success in the future from all those in the thirdgen enthusiast scene.

I too have to put in a good word for Hawks as a source of parts for my recently aquired '88 IROC-Z:
-I recently installed their GM door glass outer seals; they were a perfect fit and seal.
-I just installed their GM under-hood liner, using some locally purchased press-pins; and it was a perfect fit and really dresses up the hood. It was delivered 3days after the order was placed.
I have only the best to say about Hawks; lets keep supporting them as a reliable vendor of parts for our cars...

They seem to be a good company along with their pricing! I have called them and got a few quotes over the past 3 yrs. I live in Columbia so I can call Brock's, Hawk's, and FBody Motorsports to usually get what I need somewhere in between. Maybe once have I had a problem getting in contact with Hawk's.

Hey 3.1EyeCandy! Your interior looks great! What was the part number for your interior kit? I think I'd like to try putting it into my Z28 Camaro!

Re: hawks thirdgen firebird and camaro aftermarket vendor
i have sent hawks emails before, they have/haven't sent me emails back...it seems like a toss up when you email them.....but when you do order your hood just make sure you remind them to BE CAREFUL with it...i ordered a fourth gen spoiler from them and it was totally scratched up from staples in the box and had about 3 staples stuck in the spoiler.....i actually have a picture of the box too....also the nut inside the spoiler broke off when i put it on the car (i wanted to get this done as soon as i coudl i just fixed the spoiler myself)-->>the pic of the box is attached...i hope you can see it alright
but back to the ram air II....i have seen two in person at the local carshow i put mine in....both of them were about a year and a half to two years old and the paint was all cracked all on the hood from the fiberglass flexing...my theory is that the hood springs force the center to flex...then forcing the paint to crack off....one of the people regretted buying it and i personally dont have the 500-600 bucks to spend on a hood for it to break soon on me lol...i'm thinkin bout trying to do something with a blank firebird hood, maybe put the L-88 hood cowl on it and see how it looks.....but thats just my two cents about the hood

Re: hawks thirdgen firebird and camaro aftermarket vendor
Some of you need to give them some time!! There are more than 3 or 4 people trying to get parts. Not trying to be a a$$ but I would bet it gets stressful there. Just ask edmiller he gets 50-100 pm a day and countless e-mails over the brake kits he sells. It took ed a week or so to get back but I know I had to take a ticket and wait in line.Just gonna have to do the same with Hawks

Re: hawks thirdgen firebird and camaro aftermarket vendor
i understand about hawks and i dont mind the waiting, i mean with the emails though it kidna seems like if you were trying to ask them about how many ohms of resistance the power window switch has (for whatever reason you want that info) and you put the subject of "window switch" theyre just gonna be like 'ahhh screw it, yeah we got them in stock just order the damn thing" --delete--....i mean thats just the way i see it but i dont just see that bout hawks, but about other companies as well, if you seem like you have a stupid question or something like that then they just automatically wont read the email....thats why calling is good, but then sometimes you get service like G&T fiberglass....wow thats horrible service there lol wont even pick up the damn phone...thats why i paid extra for the wing from hawks

I believe i ordered a used hatch button from hawks, and they called me back and were out so i ordered a new one,and it came fast, and worked perfect, obviously hawks cares about there customers, they are here trying to resolve problems, i like to see that.
