2004 MOMO on ebay his headlights did not fit for crap in my car and does not accept returns.. My headlights bulge out and are a pain to get in place.

Also buying a matrix relay one i bought before was a wrong one and recieved a used unit so i wonderded why it didn't work.

He can elaborate if he would like, but i bought some from him and modded them a bit. put pics up a few posts ago. anyway basically cut the lens off then cut the back of the lamp off to make it flat so you can bolt the projector on to it. it isn't easy it takes a lot of work and knowledge of fiberglass. he has a build thread. ill dig it up and post it

http://cgi.ebay.ca/CLEAR-H4-HOUSING-...item53e68de1cb

there is just the clear housings if you need lenses for an H4 bulb. I guess at this point you can install an aftermarket Xenon or Notto kit with ballasts for HID.

noticed some of you guys have angel eye/ or halos.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-...item483fcf85c4

if you just plug everything in, will the halos come on when the parking lights are on?? or do you need to wire a new switch??

You just have to run a patch wire from the park lights to the halo wires.

Splice in a wire between the parking light wires and the halo wires so that halos and parking lights operate at the same time

Re: 82-92 CHEVY CAMARO CRYSTAL Headlights w/Adapter (Ebay seller 2004momo)

I hate to get bashed on here for asking something that's already been answered. But here goes...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=310308210116
Do these lights fit in our cars without any modifications other than wiring? The reason I'm asking is on another thread of my own someone mentioned they would not fit.

Re: 82-92 CHEVY CAMARO CRYSTAL Headlights w/Adapter (Ebay seller 2004momo)

Mine did for the most part- I had to bend the tabs on the metal headlight 'bucket' back. Only mod aside from wiring.

Re: 82-92 CHEVY CAMARO CRYSTAL Headlights w/Adapter (Ebay seller 2004momo)

I had to cut some of the back of the headlight bucket out on all four,to get them to sit in flat.Other than that no problems.I just wired the angel eye into the park light circuit, otherwise you wont see it when the headlights are on.These are the 2004 momo lights,by the way.I guess everybodys fitup will be different.

I ask because there's new manufacturers on Ebay, I think.
My choice seems to be either "Advance" or this one...... I don't think I've seen this one here

Those are the "city lights" right? I would guess you just wire them to a hot in run circuit

I'm not sure what a hot in the circuit means, I'm going to need it to be dumbed down lol

Hot in run, is when something continues to have power when the key is in the run position, like your stereo, find a wire that has power when the key is in run position and wire it to that,

That's just how I understand how to wire city lights, unless they are suppose to turn off when your headlights are on, I wouldnt know how to do that unless I had my own set to wire up, of guys leave them unwired because they do not want them on

I am not trying to be a pest or whatever, but is that same brand still available? What about the ones I gave a link to, is there any problem with those?

Wire the blue bulbs into the park light circuit,so that when you put your park lights on,you will have the angel eye effect which looks good Imo.

OK, i'm thinking about doing this, but I'm having a hard time following all the dead ebay links.

can somebody tell me which set I should get if I just want something that looks good, and fits as well as the factory headlights?

There is also these that comes with a little extra. I want to buy these but i've been reading that these aren't just a simple plug and play? My left front got hit and the headlight cracked so I need to buy something and I figured I'd buy these since i've been looking at them. But in the past couple years have they fixed the wiring adapters so there is no flickering and dimming or am I going to have to redo the cars entire headlight wiring?

Re: 82-92 CHEVY CAMARO CRYSTAL Headlights w/Adapter (Ebay seller 2004momo)

The adapters solve the polarity problem, but the increased amount of current running through the headlight switch can lead to more problems. It's a good idea to do the upgrade mentioned in this article or to get a similar harness to achieve the same results

Could someone link a recommended premade harness to buy in order to switch over to these headlights? Wiring is not my speciality and I would just like to know what everyone else recommends.

There's several out there, but several people(not me though) have mentioned this one
Maybe someone who has this one can shed some light?

Can that wiring harness be bought to just get more power to the headlights like in one of the tech articles?
I have Silverstars, the 4x6 ones, and I've been thinking of making a harness, but may go this route instead and then have this harness if the future calls for H4 or similiar.

It's basically the same thing, but the upgrade harness has the sockets pinned for H4 lights, so you would have to change that. Like the opposite of what the adapters in the light kit do

Thank you HenryD. I think there is a sticky or link on the pin diagram.

Yes, the technical article and links inside it provide that information

this thread is dead now, but can anyone answer if you need a different bulb for the high beams. i thought of buying a 6k h4 bulb for lows and 8k h4 for highs or would i be fine just getting 6k for both?

I can't speak for any housings but the Hellas.

The kit shown here is intended to replace the outer lights, takes an H4 bulb (hi/lo) and will not take an H1: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=64

This one replaces the inner hi-beam lights, takes an H1 bulb and will not take an H4: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=4069

I installed the Hellas back in 2005 when all 4 lamps in my car were beat up and dull yellow. I wanted a stock-looking, better-lighting set-up. Other than trimming the headlight buckets for the hi-beams, that's what I got. I haven't done any wiring mods so going to hi-beams kills the headlights and that's why I'm reading the thread.

But after reading about poor-pattern, falling-out halo, leaking and other issues with other housings, I'd darn sure buy the Hella stuff again.

I'm running the standard Hella bulbs which came with them and I'm still unclear as to whether HIDs should be used in these housings, or whether the lower power-use would fix the shut-down issue for me. But I'm still reading.

I think you need to read the part about upgrading the headlight wiring harness to use relays to transfer the power rather than overloading the switch which is causing the problem you're having. There's an article in the technical articles electrical section that has a diagram to do yourself, or lots of references in here about where to buy one. I believe that is the best solution to your problem

Well technically you can do a couple different things; you can either run 35w for your low beams and 55w for high beams, you can also run dual beams in the low beam lamps and 55w for high beams, you can also possibly run dual beams in both the low beam and high beam lamps. Not quite sure about the last option though.

You shouldn't use HID in lamp housings designed for halogens; this will just cause a lot of angry people and possibly a ticket or two. HID bulbs should be used in a proper projector housing in order to stay within DOT regs. High beams are one thing since you won't be using them for regular on road driving [i.e. since you turn them off when someone is in front of you and you'd turn them off when a vehicle is passing in the opposite direction]. Using HIDs in a halogen designed lamp housing [designated by usually having a "H" marking at the top of the glass] will cause heavy glare, halos, and artifacting; this causes other people on the road to have issues with their night vision.

Projector lamps have a horizontal cut off

Where as halogens typically have more of a spot light patterned beam.
