Year One.. Disappointed.

I ordered two brake parts from Year One back in mid April. The main reason I ordered from them is they were the only place I could find that listed the parts I wanted. So I ordered the parts and got an email saying the parts were on backorder and would take 1 to 4 weeks before they would ship, which was alright with me. As of last week I had not heard anything so I emailed them to ask if they had any idea when the parts would be in. Got an email back the next day, one of the parts was discontinued and no longer available so they would refund me on that, the other part should be in within two weeks. Just checked my email this morning and had another email from them, the part that was supposed to be in within two weeks is no longer available so they'll refund me on that too. And just for the heck of it I checked both parts online, they're both still listed.

So to make a long story short, their customer service and response time to my questions was fine, not so much on the product delivery.

Re: Year One.. Disappointed.

That sucks, I hate waiting weeks to get something and then finding out you can't get it!

I ordered head gaskets once and after waiting a week and a half and not seeing them I called the place only to find out the gaskets weren't available anymore.......Thanks for the phone call guys!!!

I never liked year one much anyways. Thier prices always seemed REAL steep.

Re: Year One.. Disappointed.

I HATE it when a vendor advertises a product that is discontinued. I found a carpet dash pad cover from TPIparts and went to order it online. It let me get halfway through the ordering precess and THEN said it was out of stock. I emailed them and they replied the company that made them went out of business and they didn't know when they would have anymore. Pretty lame if you ask me. These companies really should try to keep an up to date inventory list.

Re: Year One.. Disappointed.

i had a similar problem with year one on my 75 firebird. ordered upper radiator core support bushings and it was taking forever so i called and they told me the parts were on backorder, after nothing a couple weeks later they told me they were discontinued because their supplier could not keep up with the demand. really irked me that they didnt call me.
