Hi all. After waiting 30 years I finally bought one of my bucket list cars. It's a 1986 IROC Z28 that I picked up yesterday at the yearly swap meet we have here in Springfield. Everyone that's seen my car says I stole it for $6500. It's pretty slick for a nearly 30 year old car and that's why I bought it. It's powered by a TPI 305 and 4 speed automatic. I don't know what gears it has or if you can tell by the VIN? I don't know much about this generation of Camaro other than I've always wanted one of these black IROC Z28s! I also own an 81 Z28 that is currently undergoing a rodstoration. I bought that one as a roller so I'm free to build it as I please. This one will remain stock. It's not going to be a daily driver, just something for cruise nights and car shows. I do need to replace the t top and door weatherstripping. What years will fit and preferred brand to buy? I found a post somewhere on here for some new OEM ones for an 87. Will they fit my 86? This is my first third gen so educate me on them! Thanks in advance! Joe

I used Prescion Fit door and window seals and they fit great and seem to be good quality wise. The seals should fit all 3rd gen camaros

Nice IROC!
I got the complete set for my 88 GTA from 1Aauto.com.

Thanks for the complement and reply! I thought it looked pretty slick and ran pretty good and that's why I bought it. The 305 isn't my favorite small block by any stretch of the imagination but that's how it rolled off of the GM assembly line so I intend to leave it stock. I have an 81 Z28 that's going to be the hot rod. This one is just going to be a cruiser. Joe
