PATC-Transmissioncenter-Bad customer service

Few years ago I bought a transmisson from PATC. I have not used the car much (around 200 miles) but have had some leaks from the transmission. When first started the car after restoration the warranty was over (if there ever was some, dont remember and doesnt matter).

When I bought the transmission I talked to a really nice guy who understood what I was looking for and had no problems doing business with me. At the end I paid $2400 for the transmission (RAPTOR TH700R4 Stage 3 with a torque drive upgrade).

Well no problems there.

Few weeks ago I wanted to ask PATC about probable cause of the leek. I started to send an email to the same guy at PATC I bought it from but it seems that he has left the company. Then I phoned them and the call was tranferred to the tech department.

I started to tell that guy I had bought a transmission from them, and I was calling from Iceland. I told him I was NOT making a warranty claim, and the warranty period was long overdue. I was just a customer looking for some info that could help me figure out this problem. Then I told him about the problem. After I had finished there came a big silence. After I said hello to chech if somebody was on the line the clerk said:

"Sorry sir but I didnt understand anything you said".

Then I told him slowly again but got the same response.

Then I asked him to give me an email address to the tech department and he gave me sales@patc.com. When I asked him if email to "sales" would go to the tech department he said yes. Of course I never got an answear.

I must say I am pretty pissed. They had no problems understanding me before the got my money but know I am ignored (and I am just looking for info).

I work at an international company and I mostly speak english at work (with people from USA, Canada, India, French, Indonesio etc) and nobody has had a problem understanding what I am saying. This was probably because I am not from USA but it might also be that they dont care for their customers after they have gotten their money.

So if you are thinking of buying a transmission from them (and specially if you are from outside of USA) I would look if I could get better service from somebody else.

They screwed me on a valvebody for my 700r4. They sent me the wrong style and wouldn't replace with the correct one or even work with me I got ignored. Found out 25 days after their 5 day replacement warranty. Lmao such bs

Just about everybody on this site will tell you the "Go-To-Guy" for good 700r4 buildups is Dana at Pro-Built Automatics. http://www.700r4l60e.com/ He's very helpful and available when it comes to technical questions, doesn't usually charge anything for the advice either, and he stands behind his products. So yeah, lesson learned with PATC I guess. Next time you need help with a 700r4, definitely give Dana a call!
