I was so close to doing this but the only thing holding me back was the remote thermostat. I just cant get past that so looks like I will be saving up for the Stealth Ram. Maybe if someone has an ingenious method to mount the remote thermostat I would change my mind but I havent seen anything I liked.

I just wanted to chime in. I read somewhere at the top of the thread about cam wear, etc due to the LT1 intake. I have swapped cams from LT4 Hotcam to a comp cams grind. I did not notice anything abnormal. I would say (this is not an exact figure) i have around 75,000 miles on my LT1 intake. Thanks to vacation trips, work, daily running around. However i won't say that i didn't have problems. But most of them were things i could have avoided if i would have paid more attention when doing the intake. Just my .02 cents.

The only way gear wear could reasonably happen is if the height of the dist is set wrong.
The LT1intake.com intakes are set to stock height.
The alignment simply can't be off enough to cause a problem.

My buddy has a '93 LT1 Formula and hes switching to carb and selling me his entire LT1 intake setup, BBK 52mm TB and all the necessary pieces to do the swap. This would work right? I read somewhere they have to be '94 and up or something,

Also, I seen a pic of coolant lines going straight into the heads. I'm going to be getting some TFS heads and I don't think these have that, what do I do?

no you need the later intake..... and the coolant lined going into the front of the heads are for the lt1 head conversion..... have the intake sent to lt1intake.com and have him convert it... best bang for the buck and you know it will be right

You're also in Texas, which is a hop, skid and a jump away from him. What is needed to make this intake work?

I knew about the Throttle bracket, what hoses? Nothing has to be done to the intake itself, machine work?

2 coolant ports in the back of the intake (machined in) you need 2 5/8's heater hoses with a 3 inch 90 degree bend on the end... the dizzy hole is done and depending on the year of your heads he redrills the holes for the intake bolts... if you have the 89 i belive it is and later steel heads it should be really easy but mine i had the the older style so he had to fill the existing holes and drill new ones which i had to redrill when i got the intake case only 2 of them lined up
