Don't you wish GM would have put that blasted AC compressor somewhere else? Have to hack up most cars to use the stock setup. Good looking car though and the extra HP is nice to have.

I'll post a pic of my custom fibreglass setup tomorrow or Monday I think it's ok. My car's stored away, so, can't take one today... Not quite professional quality, but pretty sharp nonetheless.

HEADERS

Headers are coming soon, trust me! As for the ac, my mechanic left the stuff there just in case I decided that I wanted ac it would be there. I don't but oh well, it still has to drive that one pulley anyway. Thanks guys.

I'm confused, or maybe it's because it's late and I'm tired, but where is the MAF?? Nice setup though. And the LT1 is a strong motor. I just got my wife's 1995 Z to run a 13.77. The LT1 is stock, 3000 stall converter, and a Borla Cat-back. And the car is a convertible with the earth shattering 2:73 gears!

Same here, awesome car but ditch the blackouts. Clear light covers look ok because they give off the sealed beam look.

It is a 93 LT1, so there is no MAF. It's kinda the stepchild of the lot. It came out of a rolled over Z28 with 14k on it. Those are the stock manifolds but I'm putting shorties on soon! As for power I don't really know,my mods are in the signature at the top. 4.10 gears rock, I get rubber going into third now evey time. I will be also adding LCA relocating brackets, adj. torque arm, DR's, and a high flow cat! havn't decided if I want a torque converter or not?

oh ok, i thought you just stuck the intake on a stock L98 that explains the manifolds being different. Nice Job, so thats like 275hp in stock form.

headers

I'm not posting my plates on the internet sorry. I'm no computer geek so I wrapped a rag around it. Very cheesy, but I took these pics just to put on this forum so I don't care. It is funny though. As for headers I think I'm going to go with BBK 1 5/8 shorties into a custom Y pipe then a high flow cat.

So is this one of those times where no one is responding because the answer is common knowledge... or does no one really know if Small block shorties will fit on/with an LT1?

Yes they will fit. There may be shrouding but any hedder tailored for 3rd gens will bolt up and work on an LT1 swap.

The only thing that is stopping me from doing an LS1 swap is the amount of money that I put into my headers and exhaust.

If this is the case, and I can make my Hooker 2055's and Y-Pipe bolt successfully up to an LT1 motor of some kind, then I will sseriously have to consider this swap.

..Are there any known header issues with the LT1?

I'm just going to buy the BBk header for the 93 engine and get a custom Y pipe built for it.

4th gen headers will not work on 3rd gens. They will bolt to the motor but will not clear the firewall. I would look at a header with 1 3/4" primaries.

Thanks shifty, what a mistake that would have been. What should I do? I know most companies only make 1 5/8 for this application. The only one I know of that sells 1 3/4 is SLP, and they are hard to get in canada. AT least our race shops can't get them. So what you are saying is to order the headers for a 91z28 with a 350 and they will bolt up on the LT1?

If you put the alternator there you are either going to lose powersteering completey or have to get a Corvette accessory bracket and modify it to keep it. I plan on keeping a/c, powersteering, and the alternator in the stock location and still do a single turbo setup.

Where are you planning on mounting the turbo and what headers/manifolds are you going to use?

Ya Im prob. running the vette brackets if I have to.

Im doing my own headers etc... I plan to mimic prstons setup as close as i can. in turbo placement and header/crossover design.

Yes. I only suggest the 1 3/4" primaries because they will swallow the exahust ports on the LT1 heads. You can use whatever header you want but there may be a little shrouding with a 1 5/8" primary. You can grind the inside of the primaries a bit to smooth things out. Z28r*icer, Pasky, TexasLT1 and a few others are guys I would PM. I think most of them are running long tubes but some are running the 2055's and SLP's.

Thanks shifty! I can't do long tubes because of emissions but I can find a way to get the SLP's. So the slp 1 3/4 shorties made for a 91z28 350TPI will be all that I need to get this job done??

They will bolt up the same way as if you had an LO3, L98, LB9, LG4 etc etc. They will work with any first or second gen small block in your 3rd gen engine bay.

wow, awesome setup. First I've seen of it, and I definitely like it. Use the Vette accessory bracket and you should have no problem at all keeping everything.

Damn, I really like that setup. Do you have any more information on it?

You can grind the inside of the primaries a bit to smooth things out. Z28r*icer, Pasky, TexasLT1 and a few others are guys I would PM. I think most of them are running long tubes but some are running the 2055's and SLP's.
Pasky's running 1 5/8 SLP's

I was running 1 3/4" SLP's, i think TexasLT1 is running Hooker shorties, but not sure on that one, SLP 1 3/4" are the best choice, p/n 30005

Thats what I thought but wasn't sure. I beleive Texas is the one that grinded down the insde weld of the 2055's.

Didn't the Corvette LT1s have those bitchin' fuel rail covers? Those would look sweet on your engine!
