Thinking of having front ground effects cut, check it out
I did some editing of Jason's 91? or 92 Z, reason being is mine is the same color/year as his so i wanted to see how mine would look like this, well, what does everyone think, i figure a good shop would charge me like 200 bucks to sand/cut/paint this baby up like this:

This not only stops the front end from nose dive scraping, but also gives the car a much more aggresive look, i really like the way this looks on the new camaro/firebird ground effects, so why not do it on our generation as well no? Well? Opinions?

My opinion, NO! I just dno't like it. I do feel ya, I mean with the front end catching on almost everything, but that just looks wrong.
Why don't you try taking about 2-3" off the whole front ground effect clip? That would stop draging on the ground everywhere and look better than that. Try it and show me how it looks, because I need to do something about my front end hitting every time I drive somehwere.

well, like gofaster said, that looks terrible, it looks like you hit your last curb and it snapped. Just keep in mind that that scraping sound you hear when you go up/down a steep road is most likely the air deflector that sends air up into your air filters.

That looks like absolute $hit. It probably is your air dam that is scraping. If you want to go through the hassle, the 85-90 IROCs have a shallower front spoiler, you could swap an IROC fascia on.

I too like the new 4th Gen front spoiler. I was considering buying the front spoiler and grafting it onto mine. But I have not had a chance to measure one yet. That said, I don't like the looks of the cut spoiler you pictured. I think the lip needs to push forward further for it to look right. Simply cutting it doesn't look good IMO.

I think it looks neat
My car isnt quite upto snuff for something like this, but as long as you don't start doing ALOT of butchering and going with alot of sharp angles...

Yeah, I think it could be done... and I see what You're going for. It's just that the alterded pic isn't quite perfect looking and that's what is a little distracting.. I like the concept, though.

Now that don't look to bad, but would it really cut down on scraping? What about the side pices, they still hang low. But, I see what you are trying to get at, and let me say 100% better than you pic (he he). Looks good, let us know how she turns out.

There Ya'go!!!Now, that's cool!If a company made those, I'd buy one tomorrow. I know on Mine, that very front tip is what always scrapes first...when it's actually the front tip and not the air deflector under the car..(takes awhile to figure out one from the other) It's gonna be kinda tricky though...The front end is kinda "hollow" isn't it? Way over My head... But I say Go for it!

Hey thats my car! The second one that Wraith did looks pretty cool, but like everyone else said, its usually my airdam that hits the ground first. It has way more battle wounds than my ground effects. Hey, while you got photoshop out, slap a pair of SS rims on this pic if u feel like it.

Yeah, the scraping sound you hear is usually the air dam under the car. But the spoiler does get busted up pretty bad if you have to negotiate high curbs and the like.
The Wraith's version IS good. I'd do that to my car but what about the piece that curves up behind the spoiler?

Unfortunatly if you cut that out as such (the 2nd is better looking) shown in the pics. there will just be a sharp edged hole that is obviously cut there. You can patch it in I guess with some metal, grinding and 3M plactic 'bondo', but that's an awful lot of work to be doing and only expecting to pay $200 (unless it's going to Macco ) for it at a body shop. You may want to visit a local junkyard with a copy of your picand a pair of tin snips to do some testing first if you can get away with it. It would be sort of a pisser to do that to your own ride to find out it doesn't look quite as good as expected. just adding to the opinions good luck whatever you decide

How about you ad to the front air dam and then take some out of the midle. I know this won't help for scraping but it is some thing i have wanted to do. Has anyone seen the 200+mph camaro in mags that has the extended front air dam looks pretty cool.
