sicc87: Don't worry, they are getting painted black first thing this spring
The paint still needs to be buffed. Thats when the headlights will be painted. You guys think I should go with gloss or semi-gloss?

Finally took some pics of my car. I've had for less than two months. It needs a repaint and I'm trying to find an original z28 hood for it.

you guys are making me so sad, my car was white from the factory, but the guy who owned it before me painted it silver.
Granted he had a good job done and it looks sick, but man what i wouldnt give to have it factory again.
When i get the cash itll be repainted factory arctic white with just a little hint of pearl in the paint.

Hey 91camaro. You should take a look at my car's CD site. My car looks like yours, but with a different hood and grill. (and a few other things)
Kinda cool.

The rear bumper "tuped port injection" emblem is missing, but not exactly shaved.
I don't see a radio antenna either. Shaved? Or motorized? I'm betting shaved.

Re: Let's see your white third-gen's!
thanks guys. The color really looks great in the sun! You both guyessed everything. Yeah there is not gonna be anymore TPI thing on the bumper, cuz she is carbed now. I still need to buy the Z28 symbol for the rear. But yeah, I like having as much stuff shaved as possible. Really makes these cars look more modern and retro at the same time. I love it.
Here is a pic of the motor, just in case you guys haven't been to my CD site.

You missed something! The nose emblem is still there!
You could do a painted on version like Neil did, or a sign shop could do a full color vinyl one, so you could shave it, put the vinyl version on, and it would look the same, but be smooth to the touch!

Actually, no, because MetalliCamaroRS has a Black Thirdgen, and he was the one that closed that thread. I also have 2 black Thirdgens (89 and 90)
This thread was created long before the mods agreed no more general picture request threads, but we also agreed to grandfather in any existing threads.

Re: Let's see your white third-gen's!
Yeah, I know about the nose emblem. The body guy said it would be hard to have that be filled and stay nice over a long period of time, since up here in MA, it gets to be 90* in the summer and -10 in the winter, so the urathane parts streach and compress a lot and the filler would not mimic it exactly, so there might be cracking later on. I said forget it and told him to keep the nose and the Z28s on the GFX. I wanted to get rid of those too. But oh well. I like how it looks now. It still has a simple reminder to people that she is a camaro.
I also considered having emblems painted ans all that jazz, but, although it might not seem it. I built this entire car with $ in mind. I shopped around for a lot of stuff and esspecially the paint. To get the entire car down to metal and have all the parts 2 stage painted it only cost me 3 grand. Great deal. I had quotes for over 5.
just like with my motor, I had quotes for almost 9 grand for a fully forged roller motor making about 500 HP. I ended up gettting it for just over 6.

Re: Let's see your white third-gen's!
When we made the rule about these general color request threads, we were going to allow previously posted threads to remain open. However, people see these open and think it's a good idea to post another one of a different color and then don't understand when we lock it. So to prevent any further, we have agreed to lock all general color requests threads. Please use the vBGarage and/or omnipotentgoku's gallery (http://omnipotent-goku.com/iroc) If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to PM AmorgetRS, deadbird or myself. Thank you.
