I may end up moving to Winchester Virginia for a few months with family and wanted to know how strict they are with window tint? I have a 05 Xterra and an 87 IROC in which both have 20% tint all around. In Georgia it is against the law but they do not pull you over for it. Therefore they aren't strict. So what are my chances of getting pulled over or even passing safety inspection up there? I may just keep my Georgia drivers license and Tags until I know where I will actually be living since I am good until next year March. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line. Front Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in. Back Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in. Rear Window Must allow more than 35% of light in.
I know I'm not going by that lol.
yea i used to live in nova and i had the car tinted there and its horrible so light but it was better than nothing now i live in vegas and you can get away with limo in the back and 15 in the front but i paid so much in nova about 300 bucks i want to at least keep it for awhile lol look at my car domain to see it
And this is how you get around the law LEGALLY......
"Medical Exemption State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the specific terms of the exemption, consult your state law."
I would like to point out on the link http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/VA/ was in effect as of 1999, the laws of changed as of 2008, your allowed for our cars (3rd gens) the side windows right and left 28% window tint, on back rear hatch glass you are allowed 35% tint,.... now having side mirrors you can have 5% limo tint if you want being that you have side mirrors, now this is straight from a VA STATE TROOPER MOUTH which my is very close friend of mine *Greg* He read it out of is little law book that he carries with all the laws concerning cars and trucks, he and most state troopers in VA will pull you over to if they see that side windows are tinted darker than 28% they have a simple test that they, some do have a hand held machine that can measure the tint scale OR they take a white paper write something on it your name, tag numbers, etc in black marker or pin, they put it up to the inside of the window if they can not read the paper ITS TO DARK,,,PERIOD, they will make you pull it off (the tint) right then and their and or give a ticket or warning.
Anyone have anymore questions on tint laws I do have access to the laws in VA via PM. thanks jeff
Winchester is a little hole in the wall. Cops may have time to kill and cutbacks....... I had a 87 Formula that was limo, except front, never had any problems. Personally, I would never want the sides and front tinted limo dark, never could see out the windows at night,

I think my 20% tint will get by due to the t-tops letting light in from the top. It actually makes the tint look lighter. I'll see how I do. Hopefully I won't be there by next year March. I had plans to move to South Florida but moving to Winchester due to a little setback.

see i dont like this because if its dark out they wont be able to read it.
its a subjective test.
even if i had a way to prove i had legal tint, i would still have to pull the tint off.
