hey guys here is a new little project im working on, its a new gauge cluster for my autometer gauges, its not finished yet, I still need to finish fiber glassing it, cut holes & paint it, then install the gauges, the gauges are tilted upwards so i can see them better, they are also out a lot father than the originals as you can see in the pics, i wanted something different so thats why im making my own, i will post more pics as i go,hope you like!
thats sweet. ill have to take a picture of the secret panel that a p.o made in my car for the old cd changer controls. i plan on taking those out and putting a oil pressure and volt guage there. noone will ever know when the door is closed. ill get you a pic tomorrow.
well here it is painted, still needs to be clear coated, but im really happy with the way it turned out,i need to make a wiring harness for it yet, make sure it all works and then i will install it, to bad i don't have my engine yet lol, hope you like!

yes i used some bondo, but the main part is fleece stretched over the shape, and then fiberglass resin brushed over it and wait for it to harden. any more info i can give let me know, thanks for the comments.
well guys im finally started my wiring harness! i don't have much time to do anything with work on the go.what do you guys think of the way i have this hooked up? I'm thinking that this way i can dim the lights from my head light switch, if this works out i wont have to cut my harness on the car,all the grounds, ignition and some senders are already there, the one on the right will power the volts, clock and air fuel, the one on the left will get ran to the pillar pod powering the oil pressure, temp and water temp, gas spedo and tach will finish up the rest of this set up,if you have any info please let me know, i'm not sure if this will work so any info will help. OK guys here are another few pics, I'm almost finished you can see what I'm doing here, the way i have the wires hooked up works really good, its a pretty simple set up, i had them all lighted up just to see if it worked, and it worked fine, i still don't have a motor in the car so i cant see if all the senders work, but i think it will be fine! I still have to hook up the other 3 gauges ill be putting them under the heater vents, you can see where i have the wires ran out, would like to know what you think, good or bad, hope you like!! For the wiring I would use a quick disconnect on them like this one. It is what I used on my custom guage cluster and makes life extremely easy when you need to remove them from the car.
wow that is awesome!!! I have a similar set up planned for my car I have the exact same gauges as well! I'm going to do my cluster panel out of carbon fiber though, and have oil pressure in the center and the fuel level, water temp, and volts under my center air vents hehe

I have the same gauges and wanted to run the same setup you made. Same with the gauges under the vents. I don't like the pillar mounted gauges so wanted something different, you beat me to it
i like the gauges under the vents to, everyone has an idea that someone already had on this site, i think that there are so many creative people on her, i have had ideas that i didn't think people already used, but then you find it here, but that only gives us an opportunity to improve on that idea, i have so many ideas that i want to try but i need another car to try it with lol.
