Question in regards to polishing wheels

Thinking about polishing my wheels this winter after I do my plenum and runners. I've got the 16" convex wheels they put on TAs and Formulas. Was wondering if anyone on here has polished these wheels before and what did you do about the center caps, considering that they're plastic. I found somebody on Ebay that makes chrome decals with any color bird that you want and any size between 2"-4". Wondering if anyone has used those decals before and if they hold up well.

If you did something else about the caps, please let me know. I'm kind of stumped right now on what I should do about them.

Re: Question in regards to polishing wheels

I lost one of my chrome OEM IROC center caps the day before G10 several years ago. Since I work at a sign shop, I just whipped up a chrome decal with the IROC logo to get me through the weekend. I had intended to eventually get a new OEM cap, but it looks so good, I never did it. That was 4 or 5 years ago and still holding up fine. I don't drive it everyday, but I wouldn't worry about going that route if I were you.

Re: Question in regards to polishing wheels

I don't drive mine every day either. Never sees rain or snow. Only summer weather and if the sky is even hinting to rain, I won't drive it.

I think I'll go that route. $25 bucks for 4 decals isn't too bad.
