taillight disassembly for smoked taillights
alright guys. i need to know if there is any way to take the colored plastic off of the rear taillights without destroying them. the reason i ask is because i used to have a mercedes benz 190e that i smoked the taillights on using that rattle can spray at auto zone that smokes lights. if this paint is used on the outside of the plastic it looks terrible. but if sprayed on the inside it looks proffesional. my 190e's taillights were able to be disassembled. so what about the camaro's?

Not sure about Camaros, but Hawks sells them tinted, so I am sure there is a way to take them apart. http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/pr...ghts-Pair.html
Good luck with your project!

Yes, you can remove the tail light lense from the housing.
There are two clips at the bottom of the light.
And about four black screw like clips on top.
All you have to do is remove the screws and unclip it from the bottom and slowly take the lense apart from the housing.
Make sure you are extremely careful while doing this or one of your lights could be destroyed.

I found it helpful to put mine in the oven on the lowest setting, til they get warm(dont walk away). If you get that glue nice and warm it comes apart alot easier. If you try while the glue is cold you have to be extremely careful and Ive still broken a corner off before.
