SS Hood Help

Alright guys I need some help.. someone ripped out my ss grille on the power tour and repainting my candy hood is not an option for the summer so I am looking to unfortunately having to stripe the hood as well as the rear decklid.

Now my particular options are doing a custom version of either the heritage stripes or one solid stripe.

I am completely against stripes so I am really looking for true clean opinions on which stripe direction for those of you that love them and then as well choosing whether to go with a red or black carbon. As I mentioned i'm against stripes completely so I am looking to be as subtle as possible hence the red carbon option however the black would tie into all the real carbon on the car.

Mind you the under side of the hood is all candy paint with graphite bracing and black carbon. The interior is all black carbon as well.

So feel free to throw your two cents in and let's see where it goes..

Re: SS Hood Help

Those matte stripes look pretty cool Jeff. When you gonna post up some updated pics of all the work you've done? I know me and many others have been waiting years to see what you've been hiding...

Re: SS Hood Help

Do this when you fix the paint. It looks even better in person!

do you buy that pre made or did you order vinyl and cut it yourself? i had a sticker shop do mine 10 years ago when i painted my car and it looked horrible. (the lines) so i peeled it off. ive been itching to do something different, just not sure what to do.

They are actually just the 3M Carbon Fiber, turned out well for a quick fix. I'm not a stripe person at all and it killed me to do it but was better than peeling paint on the hood. I'll have some fun updates soon for everyone..

Re: SS Hood Help

If it were me . . . (and I have plans one day to do it to my '92 Z28)

. . . I would do 30th Anniversary style stripes (extend it to the front bumper cover a little) in carbon fiber.
