Wow, this is tuff!! I have 3 favorites so far: Buggy Disaster, Pwdbychevy and Grifter757. I prolly won't vote till the last week...
I would think videos of your machines would weigh more in a voters mind in addition to pics. At least I know it does for me...
Good luck everyone!

Re: November 2015 COTM **Voting**

Hi Everyone!

A huge thank you to Aaron for the nomination, I truly appreciate it!!!! I am so excited for my car to be considered for COTM, it's an honor!!! So many incredible third gens in the running!!

Here is the story on my '92. It's one of 116 1LE Z28s made in '92 and currently has just under 6k original miles. It is also coupled with the Z03 Heritage 25th Anniversary option as well which make it an unusual car.

I have been into thirdgens since I was 6, my Dad bought an '85 TA 5.0HO 5-speed, a gorgeous car that got me hooked. A few years later in 1991, he bought a white 89 Formula 350. I have never forgotten how fast that car felt to me as a kid, I still remember the new car smell of the interior and us burning out in it having fun When I was 15, I bought my first, a silver IROC that I did a complete nut-and-bolt restoration on it that took years to complete. It won best of show with it a few times when complete, but no matter how hard I tried there were always items here and there that broke on the car and it left me stranded. A close friend had a 1k mile 89 TTA at the time and introduced me to the low mile cars. I started a national search for the best low mile original thirdgen I could find. I had always wanted a 1LE car as a kid after reading about them in magazines and preferred to buy an original owner car if it was possible so I could get all of the history on it since day 1.

While looking through the low mile thread a few years back on this site, I came across a picture of a members car that I just couldn't stop looking at. Thirdgen Member Joel was the original owner of this car. Joel is an incredibly nice guy and preserved this car to the highest standard since he ordered it new!! It is the most documented car I have ever seen, he kept everything about the car in an organized binder form the order from through everything in ownership, it's unreal! Joel and I became good friends and when the time was right for him to sell it, I had to buy it!

I think Joel ordered this car just right. A rare combination of the 1LE with Z03 Heritage options, factory custom cloth interior, 350, and body side molding. I have been trying to track down how many Z03/1LEs are out there, compnine shows 32 in all Z03 color combos. There is one just like it in the GM Heritage collection.

It currently has 6k original miles, original gatorbacks, floor mats, etc. When I got it, I did the injectors, sway bar end links, fluids, and fuel pressure regulator.

In addition, I spent a tremendous amount of time carefully detailing up the motor compartment and the undercarriage so it'll be ready for judged shows. It's something that I love to do and i'm really happy with the way it came out. I still have more to do over the winter and I cant wait to do it!

And yes, it gets driven! I took it to a bunch of cruise nights this summer and recently on a 100 mile fall cruise that I hosted with 15 other collector cars. The car goes great and rides absolutely like new - rattle free and smooth, so much fun to drive!

Thank you again for being included in the voting and best of luck to all others entered, you all have gorgeous cars!!! Here are some pics:

Re: November 2015 COTM **Voting**

Thank you for the nomination, my wife and I are honored. We are newbies returning to the Third Gen Camaro. (We have a couple of forth and fifth gens in the garage.) We were very fortunate to acquire this wonderful piece of Camaro history, when a friend of ours told us about the car for sale. Astonishing that nearly 23 years old and virtually untouched. Our boy 'Marco' is very close to 98% original including the exhaust and tires. There are a few details we are working on to correct in hopes to make him complete.

Polo Green and Gold stripes was only available on the RS in the Heritage Edition, and there are most likely less than 500 coupes built. Unique to the Polo Green Heritage, is that the lower grille was black. Polo Green is quite a color to behold in the correct light.

We are the second owners, the car was originally purchase in South Carolina, and then the owner relocated to Iowa. Sadly earlier this year, he no longer could take car of his Camaro and traded it in. We purchased it from the dealer in Iowa. Below are some fresh pics.

Our car is rolling on just under 17,000 miles and is nearly completely original down to the tires.

Have a few more details to address in the engine bay. At some point the OEM water pump must have died since it and a couple hoses have been replaced.

Unfortunately both of the original double loop seat belt guides got broken at some point, so we are running 2000 neutral loops instead. But the rest of the interior is nearly as it came off the show room floor.

We also do have the window sticker, owners manual, t-top bag and the original GM logo floor mats safely stowed away.

The underside and wheels are cleaning up really well too.

We are excited to be the custodians of this awesome piece of survivor Camaro history. We plan to bring him to quite a few events next year. Thanks for looking!

Re: November 2015 COTM **Voting**

First off, I'd like to thank Bob88GTA for the nomination! All of the cars here are truly amazing! Congrats to all the nominees!

Here is my 86 IROC, a true B4Z car, that has had a rough life. It was purchased new in New Jersey and was stolen early in its life. It was rebuilt, and driven to just 40K miles when the motor blew due to negligence. The guy I bought it off of started the engine swap, and had the car repainted to Cobalt Blue Metallic, a darker shade of blue with a ton of metal flake! I bought the car, and started fixing the messed up motor swap that was started. Fixed so many coolant leaks that I lost count, fixed wiring issues, and a bunch of other things. She runs like a bat outta...you know what...The motor is an L98 Corvette block with aluminum heads, made to look stock. The car still retains its original transmission, and a few other original parts like the exhaust. The interior was gutted, cleaned, and most of the original interior was reused. She got a new ABS headliner, sun visors, and sail panels from Hawks. I found the missing carpeted rear plastics and reinstalled them, and an original equalizer tape deck/radio. I put the correct door decals back on the car, replaced broken emblems, and just cleaned up the mess that was started.

Today, she is a truly a looker. I enjoy driving her to shows, work, or just out on a cruise. I was privileged to be accepted into the 30 anniversary IROC-Z display this year at the Carlisle GM Nationals. I met Jerry Palmer, designer of the third gen camaro, and had him sign my dash. It was pretty cool having him sit in my car and chat with me about the design that he came up with. I also met a lot of TGO members there, and some of them were in the display as well! We had a great weekend, despite the weather, and we had a great time getting some third gen recognition. Any who...heres some pics and a walk around vid of the car. I hope you all enjoy, and again, thanks for the nomination, and good luck to all the nominees!

(Just a note, the cracked outer window felts have been replaced. This just my favorite interior shot)

And heres a walk around video of my IROC as well!

Re: November 2015 COTM **Voting**

Wow, im very excited to be nominated! Alittle history of me and my car(s). I got my first car when I was 15. It was a Black 1991 Formula 350. I did your basic bolt ons and got the car into the high 13's. I was pretty happy with how fast the car was with the little stuff I did to it. But I wanted to go faster. Being a big fan of the GM turbo cars like the turbo Buick regals and the GMC typhoons/syclones I wanted to do a turbo setup. Many people said it was a stupid idea as back then (over 10 years ago) turbo V8's weren't as common as today. I went ahead with the turbo idea and pulled the engine out of the 91 and put together a low compression l98, I even assembled it myself in my garage. I was still in high school at the time. I put the motor back in the 91 and ran it for a couple years naturally aspirated as I saved up and gathered turbo stuff. In that time I desided the 91 was alittle too rough to put all this time and money into. I happened to find a Mint, white 1992 Formula 350. The car had 175,000 miles on it even though you'd never know. I bought it with plans to swap the engine/trans with the two Formulas. After that, I sold the black 91 to a friend. I installed the low compression motor in the 92 along with a BBS turbo header, and a turbonetics 62-1 turbo. I swapped out the 730 ecm and repined the harness for the 749 ecm. I fabricated the turbocharger plumbing and got it running on a bin file for a supercharged tpi car that I found. After getting the tune dialed in, it has been running basically the same setup for about 10 years now. Ive made a few changes over the years like bigger injectors, bigger turbo. Also went thru a couple transmissions. But the engine itself has not been opened up since the original build I did. I drive the car daily in the summer. The car has ran consistent 10.7 @ 128-130mph in the 1/4 mile for many years. It is totally stock appearing besides the black Trans Am wheels I put on it this summer. I really appreciate any votes that I receive.

This is a really old video, probably one of the first years I had the car together, I did lose this race, barely haha. At this time my car was running low 11's in the 1/4 mile.

just realized POLO Z03 is from Schaumburg, IL, that's literally 15min from me. What are the odds. haha Two cars in the running for COTM so close to each other. To be completely honest, the winner should be between POLO Z03 and ev305tpi. Both those cars are SPOTLESS. Awesome cars guys. All the cars in the running are very nice by the way. Im proud to be in the running next to these awesome cars!
