DRL's come on when car is starting

STRANGE THING: Out of no where, my Canadian 1992 Camaro Z28 now starts with it's HEADLIGHTS ON.. No matter what I do.. I've had the car for 19 years and it has NEVER started with it's headlights on unless I manually pulled the headlight ****. No idea why this has all of a sudden happened.

All started 2 days ago.

It would ONLY come on after the car is started and the instant the emergency brake was put released down.. Now it's just ON when the car starts up..

Any ideas??

Re: DRL's come on when car is starting

I've a buddy who has a 2000 firebird and the only way he got the DRL off was to remove his stereo and disconnect the blue connector on the DRL module behind it.I've heard other ideas to switch them off but I know his worked. I know that under Canada's Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA) and its Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (MVSRs) require that all new vehicles sold in (or imported into) Canada and built after December 1, 1989, be fitted with daytime running lights (DRLs) that go on when you start the vehicle.
Vehicles built after December 1, 1989, that operate without DRLs are either:

United States licensed whose drivers are visiting Canada
built before December 1, 1989,
have a broken or disconnected DRL function; or
were imported when they were more than 15 years old, (the federal government does not have jurisdiction over these)
Provincial/territorial governments have complete authority over the road system and its use, including the licensing, operation and maintenance of vehicles.

I don't understand why they suddenly started working unless you completed some electrical work and reconnected a previously disconnected connector or there was a possible faulty wire/switch(sensor) or relay. Let us know how you get along as this is a real mystery since it never happened before?
