I just picked up my IROC from the body shop last night and snapped some pics for all to see, it's the original color but modified slightly with some pearl to help the shine....

let me hear your comments and such.

wow looks like they did a pretty nice job? How much did that run you? I could see that car with 2 black racing strips going down the middle, but just a thought.

Exactly what color is that? I can't believe its the original color (okay, but with pearl etc.) Your car is extremely nice! BTW "Supercharged intercooled"? Details please!

Wow!! That is an AWESOME color! I love the hood too! Are you doing to keep the gold in your rims? I think you should polish them up or get some new ones and that would look killer. That color is gorgeous. :hail: :hail:

Thank you all,

ok i'll try to answer the questions that were asked.

<b>89 blackbird</b>, sorry but i'm not a racing stripe kinda person.

<b>IROCZTWENTYGR8</b>, the headlight pockets were masked off and did not get repainted.

<b>Saywhut</b>, the hood is a glasstek 2" cowl (bolt on style).

<b>Chris87TA350</b>, yes it is the original medium orange metallic w/pearl added to it. as for the SC & intercooled, go to my webpage, there are my pics and all the mods that i've done.

<b>MetalliCamaroRS</b>, my plan is to get a set of full polished ROH ZS 17" rims. when my bank account recoupes from the paint job.

Again, Thank you all for the nice comments!

Are you going to put the IROC-Z stickers back on the doors? Also, about the Supercharged sticker, are the letters supposed to be all crooked?

What is that colour? Name and paint code, if you know. Looks great BTW

Good idea to leave the headlight pockets black- most people get'em painted and they look like *****.

sorry, but my car without the IROC-Z door decals, and i plan on leaving it that way

<b>MetalliCamaroRS</b>, yes the supercharged letters are supposed to crooked.

<b>871LEIroc</b>, i'm not sure whatthe paint code is for the color but if you go to a gm dealer i'm sure that they can tell ya, It's medium orange metallic, only available on '88 camaros and possibly firebirds.

<b>the swede</b>, i already have the autometer ultralight 2 1/16" vacuum/boost gauge installed in my a-pillar dual pod.

<b>Tony89GTA,</b> the mini 14 is not mine, just the .44 desert eagle and the colt .45, but i can tell ya that mini14 is a very nice piece, someday i'll have to get one, it was too much fun unloading 30 rounds from hip!

<b>LeftTurn1LE,</b> I can hook you up with my painter, but i'll let you know, he's not cheap, his paint jobs start at $4500, but if you want quality, that's the price you (and i) have to pay.

Cool, I really like that color. House of Kolor has a color that looks alot like that called Cinnamon Pearl. Thats the color I want to paint mine. Its red with red interior now. I wonder if I should keep the red interior or get something else. I don't really know what goes with orange like that.

I've always liked the Desert Eagle. I'm 19 and I think you have to be 21 to get a handgun here.

you have to be 21 to get a handgun period, that is unless you have connections (only 19 too) i just recently picked up a brand new 9mm

Extremely impressive.

Can you get me the paint code for the pearl coat you used? I've experimented with a couple pearl coats over colored paint and it looks horrible. All I can make the pearl look good over is the white and yellow colors. I'm guessing that pearl was a custom blend designed for darker colors?

<b>Jim85IROC,</b>
Next time i stop by my painters shop, i'll ask him what he brand he used, all i know is he put 30 mg (pearl)into the paint, and also he mentioned something about adding 50mg of orange also. I wasn't to concerned about this stuff, because i told him do whatever he wanted, just make it look as close to the stock color as possible and make it look good, this guy does nothing but custom and show paint jobs, and once in a while alittle collision repair for friends. plus he's a fellow camaro owner, you can see his car on the cover of Super Chevy (may2001).

I remember that car.

But yeah... if you can ask him, I'd appreciate it. When I sprayed my car, I added a pile of orange mica to the red, and I'm not happy with how it came out. I didn't put nearly enough in, and the only time you can even see it is when you wax it. Next time I do the car, I want to do a pearl coat over the red, but so far my experiments have looked murky and pinkish. I tried using the pearl coat layer from the Lexus Crystal White that I sprayed my GTA with. It obviously doesn't work over colors like red. Anyway, thanks.

what kinda thing do you want to know, steve doesn't have a e-mail addy, and he really hates being bothered at work, unless it is business related.

i know alot about his car, so i might be able to answer your questions. if not, i can call him.
