I was coming out from my gym and I go to get into my car that had been sitting there for about an hour in the freezing cold, and since I had just got done lifting weights... well the trigger in the door must have been frozen and I go to pull the handle and I break the frigging thing....
What is there to it when replacing a handle? I'd appreciate the assist...

Dang, that sucks.
Take the door interior panel off (with all that entails).
With the window up, disconnect the handle linkage, and remove the two nuts holding the door handle in place. There is an interior plate, don't drop it, it can be a pain to fish out of the door. (been there done that)
Then remove the handle and replace.

my door handle broke and so i went to buy a new one...$50 bux canadian. so does anyone know where i can get one cheaper than that. if not then ill live with getting in the passenger side to open the door.

I had that problem on my truck. When I was replacing the handle I realized that if I push in and lift up then it opened. I don't think that the Camaro's are much harder to replace than my truck was. It took like 20 minutes to remove and replace it. So good luck. If I can do it anyone can.

When I got my Mustang, same deal...the driver's door handle was broken off. The factory Ford (plastic 
) handle was like $55 US, but the parts counter guys were able to find a nice new metal aftermarket handle assembly for $17. Installing it wasn't bad, I had it done in probably a half hour. Shouldn't be too much different on a thirdgen. I only had to get out a couple rivets and replace them with nuts + screws.
