Headlight Motor Help Please

HEY GUYS,

My stepfather just rebuilt the headlight motor out of my 84 TA. It wasnt working very well before... it would go up but not down... now when i plug it in it goes down till the cows come home without even pushing the headlight button or anything. Does this mean that the relay on that side of the car is fried? This obviously is not good is it?

Thanks for all your help,

peace

more of an electronics board post, but...
As to the headlights going up, but not down [I know you said you fixed it], but the power to up goes through a different fuse than to go down. If its going up, but not down, check your taillight fuse [down power is included in that fuse]. As to it being a bad relay, that may be it. Do both of them go down forever? if so, check the relay on the other side of your radiator, if its only one, just switch relays. I don't know what year you have, but my 83 has 3 relays [never messed with them on anything else] 1 @ each headlight and one near the battery shelf. Just move relays around and see if anything changes. chances are not all of them went, that should help you pinpoint the prob.

btw, someone please correct me if I'm wrong
