I'd say junk yard.......

I had my passenger side strut "cap" pop off towards the engine last week..... Some steel plate and bolts awa a I go.

I'd seriously weld in new or like new wheel wells if you can yank them from the junkyard.

I had my caps fixed and welded, and then the cap broke off... go figure.

Theres some scary pics somewhere on this board of what it looked like before the caps were fixed.

You do not want to have to get the tops off of another car. Its a time consuming pain in the butt. I have the same issue with my Formula, and went through the pain of taking the tops off of a friends totaled Trans Am. If you want a set to replace them Ill sell you the ones Ive already removed cheap. I went ahead and bought a hard top body to replace my rusted out formula. But if you do decide to remove a set from another car. A good drill, bit set, air chisel, and sledge hammer come in handy.

lol, if you have some money and time, see if you can get a chassis fab person to makesome custom one to replace your wheel well... then just pop rivet ( or use quarter turn fasteners!) some sheet plastic in for fenderwells and you will have a stiffer, stronger, and hopefully lighter front end...

id like to do that someday..........

hey i just replied to both your pm's... and dude that sounds trick, but in the end will it hold up to heavy cornering would be my major concern. oh strokd when you get these pics dont freak on the holes youll see in the pieces. every spot weld had to be drilled out and i believe there were 23 in each top.

I was referring to Dude's idea. As for putting the new tops on heres what Ive come up with. The stock spot welds work well, but once removed and then redone I wouldnt trust it. Even with 23+ spot welds in it it worries me was once redone. I decided to respot weld everything and the run several stitch welds around the lip that folds over the tower. I think that should work.
