I remember a few weeks ago someone made a post about getting the part number for the windshield molding but i don't know if they ever posted. I went and got a new molding today from the gm dealer, surprisingly had it in stock. Figured i'd post the number for other people, anyway here's the part number - #10103279 . I got it for $30, just checked and it's $17 on gmpartsdirect.

Here's what it looks like installed. Looks much better then the old molding that the person that replaced the windshield put on.

excellent i need one of those. mine broke when removing it. i need a new windshield also, bubbles in the black area that bug me.

How does the molding install does it just push into place after you install the glass.what holds it in place the urethane?Ive got to do mine to,my windshield was trashed when i removed it and the molding was dried out

If I'm not mistaken I believe you put the molding around the windshield first then drop the window into place. If I am wrong someone let me know because I have to do mine too.

No this is not the case, the older model gm cars, although it was beneficial to install at the same time as the glass... You would not physically install on the glass separately, and then set the whole unit in place.
You can get either type and are readily avaliable at any auto glass shop... As a matter of fact they will probably have a roll of the softer version on the shelf. (which I prefer to the more brittle OEM version.)
