I'm hoping someone can tell me the better way to go, I've got a fiberglass hood from my '82 Z/28 I dont know if I should cut it and put a hood scoop on it. Or if I should sell it and buy a hood with the scoop already installed. I dont know how much the hood is worth. I'm looking to go with a 3 inch cowl induction. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have found if you have to add it on cuase no one makes it that is one thing, but it you can by it already prefabbed you are better off. Adding to any hood, be it Fiberglass or steel is tricky and has to be done right to look good and to hold up. Plus a generic hood scoop will never look like its made for the car the way one designed for the car will look.

Go online and look up diff companies that sell hood for our cars... to get prices on the hood you have and the hood you want.

There are others I'm sure...do a search here and you should get some more names.

I would recommend selling the hood you have and buying what you want. I think you will have a better quailty hood in the end.

Is the hood you have painted or anything. If its bare glass you may be able to sell it easier. Hard to ship hoods though...Probably have to sell local...hard to say
