Hello all,
I have a simple question. I am replaceing my carpet in my '89 Bird. I need to know what kind of installation I can install before I install the carpet. I would like some type of materail (colth/rubber or what ever) that will dampen noise and keep heat out. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

After I replaced the floorpans in my 91 I went to Lowe's and bought some roofing mat'l,it was about a 1/16 of rubber with alum backing(self-stick),looked a lot like dynamat,4" wide by 33 feet long if I remember correctly,iI did a single layer everywhere,double under seats and in trunk/cargo area
It made the car sound and feel like a Cadillac(almost..hehe)
Stuff was 6 bucks a roll or so
A few other board members have used it,I saw links on it B4

i'm pretty sure you meant insulation, but get some cheap some from lowes or homedepot, it all works about the same

I got thermoshield rolls from PEP BOYS for under the carpet, after I soundproofed the metal...

Check the site, did alot more then that and it payed off! That is mostly what the site is about!
