Original paint color

I am currently restoreing a 1983 z28 camaro with a lg4 5speed. I want the orignal color which iam guessing is white since white is everywhere: under panels, the carpet and the engine compartment. The car is curently I think navy blue and so is the interior. I would just check the rpos but there not there anymore, i found the build sheet or whats left of it a good 1/4 inch of a corner still hooked up to the driver seat so thats no go ethier. Whould it be a safe bet to just paint it white again and did the factory paint the old z28 5 spoke rims the body color or are the supposed to be paintless aluminum. O and did lg4s come factory with fiberglass hoods because it has one on it.

Welcome to TGO!

The way to check for your original color is to pull the door panel back a bit, usually people skip painting them, just as you did. Or if that doesn't work, try pulling an interior panel out of the trunk- again, most people don't paint that since it's not seen. I'd assume your premonitions are correct; that your car started off white.

And, I do not think any came with fiberglass hoods but I could be wrong.

The Camaro White book says '83 was the last year for the third gen Z28's to have a fiberglass hood. I read this so I could be wrong too.

The book I have says code 11 white. Interior codes with white is B-Br-C-Ch-Chbo-Sg on models Bc-Spc-Zc. The book says they're the recommemded combinations andthere could be deviations.

The only other is beige code 59
