What hasn't happend to me lately f *ck

ALright so its friday and I leave saturday for a show (low rollers). This was a week ago btw. I just now have time to post this as some incentive for you guys to consider getting an alarm even if you dont have high quality audio. Alrigth back to the story on friday, I cleaned just about ever inch of the car and was all excited looking at it sit in the sun just perfect. Lock everything up , head inside, look at the car from the house and everything looks fine. So its now saturday (waking up at 5:30) get everything together (my bag of clothes and cleaning supplies) as I walk up to my car and see this

As I approached the car I got choked up knowing exactley what has happened and didn't want to go any further but I had to. So I walked around the other side. The picture explains it.

I saw the ground then the adrenaline started to hit me. Looked inside the car and It just got worse and worse and worse.

It just sucks so bad, So far I replaced the window to get me by. I estimated like 1500$ of damage/stolen audio.

Here's that box I told you guys I was going to build. About 5 hours estimated in just the top , front and back. It was hard. But yeah they took the hole box and the 300+$ alpine flip down headunit.

That headunit was the best I ever had. 3 weeks ago I had a rim fly off going 55 you guys may have seen that post. And then a year ago someone stole my dirt bike. No i'm not in the ghetto! damn it

Man, that's BS.

I got into a rather heated discussion on another forum how thievery should be as severly punished at murder and rape. . .but I digress.

Good luck man, hopefully insurance will cover it.

dude thats sucks big time, i know how it feels, my first camaro got broken into 4 times, and they stole all my stereo equipment, my 5th camaro has been broken into 6 times, and yes they have alarms on them, so far my iroc-z hasnt been messed with, but i learned that no matter what you do they will get into your car, so i leave my doors unlocked to prevent damage to the windows and the door locks, let them take thes*it at least the car wont be damaged, there is nothing worse than some piece of trash breaking in your car, its the worst feeling.

That sucks man, but when you leave it sitting outside with an incredibly visible system like that- what do you expect? I know theives suck, but most of the time they're not as dumb as we think. If a car doesn't have an alarm or some type of security system, it seems as though we're just asking for trouble.

I hope you recoop everything you lost.

With such a nice car an alarm should be the first thing to get. Shiny rims, nice paint, loud stereo... thats going to draw attention.

well a glock with the slincer would be nice, kinda not right thoug. I like some of the eastern countries if they catch a thief stealing with the left hand they cut of that hand if it is both hands they cut off both hands. sounds great to me as thiefs should be know just like pedifials

later and

Wow, I got pissed just reading that. The way you posted it with the pictures in the places they are, I felt as if I was actually walking out of my house and towards the car to inspect the damage myself.

I too had a lot of expensive equipment with no alarm. The only thing I probably did different was use locking nuts on everything that was bolted down (subs, amp) so it would be impossible to take my system without sawing or hacking everything out. There's a good chance that less theives are willing to spend that time or effort to get your equipment.

I really hope you get everything back and i'm tellin ya, if I had extra equipment laying around, I would pass it your way. Sorry bro.

i'd definately be making an insurance claim, do you have full coverage? if so it should cover just about everything but the sub box.

Too bad you didn't hear them...there ain't nothing like seeing a "thief" running away from your car or whatever they was trying to get into with the look of pure terror on they're face. I've been there...left the windows open (duh) and saw them peeking around inside and just before they went to get in and do something, porch light flicked on and all you hear..."GET THE F*CK AWAY FROM MY CAR YOU STUPID PUNKS"

Yea, but it does no justice to the car at hand. Sorry to hear dude, such a loss. No worries tho mate, you'll come back with an even better setup than before.

Wow, sucks to be you. if i were you, i would be walking around right now with a pump shotty trying to fund those little bastards.

With the ammount of theft and break-ins in this town im so surprised nobodys ever touched my car. Ive got a 12" & 15" subs and the 3 amps sitting in plain view in the rear seat and hatch. Im going to pull them soon before someone goes through my windows to get them.

I also had the same audio setup in my old 81 tercel and it never got touched!!!

man that sucks.... seems like the only luck you have lately is bad..

Get a dog... even a small one makes enought noise to wake you up when someone is around. Also do you have motion lights outside your house? its a must for the drive way and car parking areas. not many theif will sit there in the light and steal your stuff. me and all my neighbors have them and no one messes with thie area. We once even seen people run from the arae when the next door lights popped on. its a simple approach that does work. flood lights on a motion dectector

good luck getting the car back together

ya.. sux man. Id suggest putting the box in the back this time if u decide to make a new system. And always remove the faceplate....dont bump it near your house...all the preventable stuff...Ive never had an attempt on my stereo. Just my entire car at the registry. Some1 stole my cutlass a while back.

With the wheel thing and now this, I'm gonna say someone around you has it out for you. I would definately get one of those cheap mini wireless spy cams and some cheap recorder and start monitoring where you park.

thanks guys for the post I really appreciate them. My parents just went out to get some motion lights. Then my autopage720 should be here tomorrow and i'll get that installed in the car this coming week.

Crazyh-those set ups arent that cheap? Do you have one? I guess it would only work if someone went near the car and the motion light went on so the camera could see.

You can rig something up like a shock sensor triggering a cheap digital camera that has record mode on it (like my Canon Powershot has 30 seconds of video). Everytime its bumped it'll turn on and get someone trying to open car, or something hitting and running.

$20 for sensor + price of a digital camera that can do video (even the cheapest canon's have them). You'll need to rig the camera to take pictures from a signal via the shock sensor. So have the sensor trigger a motor to press the button, or have the sensor wired directly to the camera (if you have to ask then you can't do it).

Get a sheet of leather, a package of those three-point fishing hooks, and a carpet-needle and thread.
Sew the hooks to the leather.
Drape the thing over the driver's seat.
Hide with a thin seatcover.

NEVER FORGET THAT IT IS THERE.

I'm talking when you're not at your house...

A simple flood light will protect a parked car in a driveway.

yeah you guys with those car garages have it made.My parents spend money on other stuff like boats and crap. I even had to do all my body work outside, some days i would have a whole 1 side of the car sanded, numerous spots down to the bare metal and then a storm hits. then next day re do everything over. Its been tough oh well. Looks like i'm going to just shave my lock on the passenger side since its so discombobulated. Ya kno. wish i could find a cheap s10 beater and re do this car right now. that would be nice.

LOL! Those damn crackheads!!!

Crazy, check out the X10 camera on E-Bay, sometimes you can get em used for cheap. I got a complete setup for $60, wireless and all. I installed a flood light with motion sensor ($20) and installed the camera sitting just behind the light, constant power from the power line to the light. In the house I have a VCR I got fo FREE with the wireless receiver hooked up. Only crappy part about this cheap ghetto rig setup is that an average VCR tape only records for 6 maybe 8 hours, so you gotta change the tape alot. But you can still watch the video during the day, tape it when you're away from home, and catches things at night when the light goes on.

I did all this to find out who was attempting to egg my car, but they were one timers, never came back. They must throw like girls because they missed from close range.

I get much of my video security system supplies from www.supercircuits.com

They have cool stuff, great customer service, and ship fast.

Order a catalog.

Ive had qiute a few systems stolen with/without alarms on my car.

Some things I have learned:
NEVER put stereo equipment stickers on your car, youre asking for it

Never bang your system near your home or at downtown cruises and hangouts. I knew a guy who blasted his brand new system for everyone that he spent tons of money on and showed it off to tons of people one night during cruise night. He left everything wide open for people to look at and even told everyone he didnt have an alarm on the car.The next morning it was gone. He was asking for it.

Flood lights and alarms with deter a lot of wanna be thugs and thieves

Anytime anyone sees a nice car all detailed with maybe nice rims or a super sweet paintjob is gonna automatically assume youve got a nice stereo to go with it

Maybe Im just gettin old (23 lol) but I dont need a booming system giving me headaches anymore. In fact, the first thing I did when I bought my new 92 RS was take out the speakers/amp and scraped off the stereo manufactures' logo off the windshield.
Some nice speakers and a decent headunit is all I need.

My input dont put your info on the net even this site dont tell people what you have , and always say you park your car in the garage and have an alarm . I know no one from this site had to do with it but u dont know not everyone like us is out to just help you there out to find these kinda sites seek out people that live in there area and look at all there posts, and see what they got and how to get into there cars. just the other week i saw a post about disabling the VATS now why would anyone in there right mind tell someone how to do that just my to cents. Coming from some one who lives in a nice area and had there car stolen and wrecked so now im stuck with a salvage titled car and no radio and mismatched rims, i guess i should have used the empty garage i had ya and i had liability so i had to bite the cost of everything.

sometimes in my opinion its almost better to not lock your doors...

Lots of **** isant gonna stop a thief..if he wants ur stuff lots of times hes gonna do whatever it takes to get it..

Simply opening a door would save alot right there...id always keep my headunit on me or very well hidden...dont have subs not worried about that

backseat systems of practicly useless unless you never leave your car unatteneded..Theyre bound to get stolen unless you have tint on your windshield(which is illegal).

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think those chrome wheels are crime magnets.

Sorry to hear about it though. It's never happened to me, but I can't imagine how I would feel.
