I just picked up an '89 LO3 in "Flame Red Metallic" I cant tell what the pain looks like because I'm missing most of my clearcoat, and whats left of the clear lacks luster. I would like to see some pics of a freshly painted, or good as new Flame Red Met. Camaro. If it looks good, I'm going to save myself the trouble of jambing the car out and painting it 2003 50th Corvette Red Met Pearl. So Come on! Lets see what you've got! Please?

Oh and where is everyone getting these 5" tall rear spoilers for our cars?! I know Camaroguy18 made his own... but I'm starting to see more and more of them, like they are being manufactured. Regardless... They look hot!

I think that people are getting them from hawksthirdgenparts.com. I've seen them a time or two on ebay also.

if you can paint it the true anniversary color i suggest you paint it that color as gm is suppose to have a lock on that color for the vette only and any vette owner that would give you their code for the paint wouldn't be to bright so reguardless if you can get that paint then paint something with it!

Long story short, it ended up crashed into the brick wall by the yellow fire hidrant at the top of the screen.
The z28 and rs emblems will both fit on the rear bumper.

Hey Jeff, I got the paint code written down somewhere along with the dupont #'s for the color. If I have the paint code will I have a hard time getting the paint? or is it just that GM wont give out the paint code?

just try and get the paint, if you can get it with ease congratulations. the paint code itself isn't a mystery and some people fake batches to sell on the internet.

I didnt know the name of that color was Flame Red Metallic. Thats what color my old 89 RS was. To be honest I was never really into that color, probably because mine looked like yours with the messed up clearcoat. Ah the memories ...

actually i believe on the camaros it was known as dark red metallic and the color used on the birds was flame red metallic.

The delivery sheet for my car from Van Nuys to the dealer says Flame Red Metallic. Thats how I found the name of the color

yeah that isn't flame red and it also looks repainted. too much brown.

I thought my bird was flame red but looking this over I'd say I was the dark metallic red or some other color by GM.

Well my old car had that brown look when I bought it and you can see CrazyHawaiian's did as well. But of course lighting can change things.

yeah the color really pops with a bright sunset, thats the only time my car looks good! haha

My buildsheet says Flame Red Metallic while the window sticker says Dark Red Metallic. I guess it's one in the same!

I really appreciate all of the responses, and I have chosen to paint my car the stock color again.

So does anyone know if a Z-28 badge will fit on an RS rear bumper? I heard the outline of the badge is a differnt size... and you acually need a bumper from a "Z" to have a Z badge on an RS. It doesnt make sense, but someone told me that they dont fit...

I know the badges on the side skirts and dashboard are the same... why wouldn't the rear bumper be??

both emblems fit. just dont go flaunting your rs as a z28 on these boards, you'll be asking for trouble.

im not badging it until it gets a new steering box and a 350... even then I'll still say its an RS...

I saw a white "IROC" at the track.... with a bone stock 305 TBI... the announcer even said it was a 'roc. haha

The tbi motor was a base option on the 88-90 irocs.

havent been restored yet, but i do love the stock color.

his car looked like an rs that was badged and striped... he had the rs tail lights and wheels on it... no power locks, windows, or hatch release, and had the rs interior

looks to be more raised than lowered......are those h4 headlights....damn cool

Front springs are compressed, so it sit's a little low in font, but still rides great... so I got "free lowering springs"

Yes, they are H4 headlights, but the headlights arent on in those pictures, those are crusing lights that I have wired to my parking light cricuit.

just from being 16 years old, they are squished a little, the rear sits at stock height, thats why it looks like the front is so low.
