Fill on rear bumper cover?

Ok I did a search and still not clear on what to do. Pls Help!

The rear bumper cover on my Sport Coupe had been hit and the paint cracked. Previous owner left it that way so long the UV damaged the plastic and left shrunken patches that are still depressions after significant sanding. So before I use regular spot putty to fill these what should I really use??? This will be a daily driver and the cover is off cause the whole car is being painted next weekend. I am scared the putty will crack after I paint the cover while I am putting it back on!

Body shops use a plastic repair compound, although I cannot remember what it is called - I do know there are several threads on here where they have talked about it...

it is made to fill in holes and cracks - then be sanded down and painted - making the bumper good as new

edit: here's one I found w/a link for the flexible bumper repair kit

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...=bumper+repair

if I'm mistaken, you should be able to buy that stuff at a place like Oreilly's or any other auto parts places...

Thanks, ended up putting a skim of spot putty over the spots I couldn't sand flush, gonna block them out in the morning. Likely I will be the guy warning folks not to do this next year, but it seems to do the trick.
