door roller pin?

so when I ordered my new upper hinge pins from TDS,
I saw the roller pin for sale.. it was 10bux and I know my roller pin
was pretty f_cked so I bought them.

the description says although it may look like they're 1piece, it's actually 2.

I got the lower hinge w/ the roller pin out, I got the bushings and the pins out ok,
but should I just try to pull off the roller pin from the top or something?

it just reallly looks like theyre welded together to me.. any1 done this lemmi know of a good way to get them apart, thanks.

Re: door roller pin?

Grind the head off the old pin, remove the roller. Un-bolt the hinge half from the a-pillar. Put the exposed head in a vise leaving a gap between the larger pin and the vise to pry against. I used the pry bar that comes with the pin popper tool I sell and beat the snot out of it with a hammer and pried. I'm sure it would be easier if you had a hydraulic press, but I don't. That's how I've done it.

Re: door roller pin?

thanks lon, Im thinking of taking it to a bodyshop to do this for me.

they already gave me a quote for doing the hinges (since I decided not to do it myself),

my question is this:

for grinding off the old roller pin and pressing the new one back in,
wouldnt be much more of labor right?

Im guessing at max another 1hr labor adding to my quote,
but Im just worried about that.. oh well Ill find out in few days
