Paint/breakdown questions

Heah guys I was wondering I've never had a vehicle painted before I'm aproaching paint time time, I just put the last of the gfxs on and a couple more bolts it'll be done except for some light body work, my question is, is the car broken down to paint it or is it painted with the gfxs on.. I'm guessing one could do it either way but wanted some info and some tips for those who have gone through this...thanks

Re: Paint/breakdown questions

I would say take them off. You will get a higher quality job that way. It is very difficult to sand down in the small corners where the gfxs attach. Adhesion could be affected if they are left on...

Re: Paint/breakdown questions

Depending on where you take it and what you want done. The best deal is if you can find a painter that does side jobs at his own shop. It may take a little longer for them to get it done, cause they are doing it after work, but the savings are generally worth it. When I was working at a major shop, they would charge 1500 or so for a complete job. At home I could do it for 800-1000. It was simply just extra cash.

I agree, take everything you can get off, it'll come out cleaner and as stated before the paint will get better adhesion so it has less chance of peeling.
