Found why my T-tops leak :(

The t-tops themselves are good and the weatherstripping is still okay. The t-top bar though is rusting out up front by the windshield. The windshield seal is still good with no rust. I pulled back the t-top weatherstripping a little and removed the plastic liner piece. I hope I can fill this in with something.

Re: Found why my T-tops leak :(

My last major leak was caused by not enough sealant at the center bar. PITA to find because the water would leak in by the center bar, run along the top of the windshield, then drip in my lap. Naturally, I thought the leak was on the outer edge and couldn't find it.

Re: Found why my T-tops leak :(

Reason why I want to fill it is because a new one is $200. Seems really overpriced to me. I don't have $200 lying around that I can use right now.

Sounds like smae problem I`m having. What did you do I`ve tried the stuff in the tech articles and searched and tried some things but nothings stopped it.My only "fix" was to park it in the garage and try not to get caught in it in the rain.

Re: Found why my T-tops leak :(

Lucky you, In my state there are no 3rd gen camaros in my area in junk yards that aren't rusty, I am not buying a used t-top bar that is rusty.
In fact the closest 3rd gen camaro in a junk yard is 45-50 miles from where I live.

Re: Found why my T-tops leak :(

If you want I`d be more than happy to grab one for you next time I`m at the yard.If it is indeed rust free after closer inspection I`d send it to you for whatever my cost is.Fuel and shipping included of coarse.
