prep sanding for paint

I am about to prep sand my car for paint.I have done all the dent and rust repair.I also have used all profesional prep products.The paint is in good shape as it was stripped down to metal and resprayed 10 yrs ago.I pland on sanding the car by hand .what is a good grit to prep sand the old paint before painting?

400 grit is typically a good cutoff grit between the old paint and the new base.
