Needing some pics and/or advice on trimming cowl hood
I just picked up a Harwood Outlaw 4inch cowl hood off craigslist for $175. Its was a really good deal and has been used for a while but is in good condition. Anyways instead of the previous owner trimming it like it is suppose to he made aluminum bars and bolted to the car to pin the hood to. I know I am going to have to get some fiberglass and fill in the holes so I can put the right holes in but I need to know the best route of trimming it to fit the body. I know the rear needs clearance for the wipers and I think the entire front lip needs to come off across the hood to fit with the nose. So anyone got pics of the process, advice, or rough measurement's of how much I need to trim on all 4 sides?
Thank you in advance

Is it just the scoop by itself or is the scoop already mounted on a hood? Do you have any pictures? I just put a cowl hood on my Firebird so I may be able to help you out.

Here is a link to the Chevy High Performance website where they installed a fiberglass hood on an 84 Z28. Hope it helps. http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...lid/index.html

When I installed my harwood hood I put the hood on first and just kept sanding on the back edges until the wipers moved freely. Took off maybe 3/16".

Thanks for that link that helped out alot. I just don't trust myself enough to do it so I am going to ask a few friends here and there to read that article and see if they will do it for a little bit of money. The hood has been sitting in my living room behind my tv for a little over a month now driving me crazy haha.
