1992 RS Heritage Edition Paint help/options
Ok guys, so I have a 92 RS HE, and I am debaiting on either painting on the factory stripes, or getting the decals and having them put on. The car is going to stay the same original bright red, but just cant decide if I want to keep the paint all original looking with the decals or, paint them.. I know its not a big deal, but I just wanted to get some ideas of what everyone else thought about this. Thanks guys. Here is a pic so that you know what I am talking about.

i say decals for 2 reasons. 1. it's easier, and therefore probably cheaper, to paint the car one color. 2. it came originally with decals, so there's no reason for you to get flamed for sporting the vinyl.

I painted mine because i paint for a living and it was cheaper than buying the $200.00 stripe kit

I say paint that way you dont have to worry about the vinyl fading before the paint and it looks better too.

Before I had my car repainted the last time it had the stock stripes. They were cracked and faded bad. Paint is better because they want crack and they fade even with the paint.

Thasnks so far guys.. It seems that most of you are for the paint. You all bring up very good points.. Blackie, man do I wish I lived somewhere close to you. Your car looks great, and if you did the paint on it, I would be down to have you paint mine.

Re: 1992 RS Heritage Edition Paint help/options
being red, painting probably would be better. the white cars we've had over the years never fade (visably anyway), so decals would be easier to change out without having to repaint. they do get crusty though, but still come off. if you plan on having someone do it for you, Austin's Body Shop is the best in town. if you ever see Terry's cars, you would know. he is pricy though. i have a friend that paints for a body shop, if you want another option. still does good work, but takes a while doing it part time.
