1992 to 1989 hatch pulldown swap?
i have an 89 convertable.i want to add remote trunk release.i was at pull a part and found a complete 1992 so i pulled the whole latch since i wasn't sure what part i needed for my 1989.i later found out they are completely different.is the 1992 latch a bolt in swap for the 1989 or should i take it back and swap it for the part i need?by the way the 1992 latch has red swirls painted on it.does anyone know if that means it was rebuilt?

the hatch pulldown isnt interchangable as far as i know, youll need one from 89 or older. possibly 90 or older, i cant remember if they changed the hatch pull down in 90 or 91.

As far as i know there was 2 different types of hatch pull down. ill try to bring up some pictures if i can find them, but i did a complete assembly swap on my 91 not knowing it was just the module on the motor that would only work intermittent. But a 88 camaro worked for my 91 TA.
