to cowl or not to cowl
hey guys..... im trying to figure out it i want to switch from my powerbulge hood to a 3 inch cowl hood.... i think it will give my gta a more badass look..... my current powerbulge hood is dented and is a really faded bright red color and it will need about 500+ plus to make to color match and get the dents outs and stuff..its really ugly on my car but i sorta like the powerbulge hood because it has somewhat of a cowl hood... i rather buy i real cowl hood at that price... what do you guys think.. here is the hood i was looking at

Re: to cowl or not to cowl
fits perfect, it uses the same hinges but i had to use weak old shocks to make it work.
it also uses the original hood latch but the dude i got it from drilled holes for pins.
im glad that you posted this because i had no idea what hood i had but it looks to be identical to the one you posted

Re: to cowl or not to cowl
I just put a Harwood on my 87 & had to cut 2 notches in the back lip. 1 for the drivers side wiper (it was hitting when the wipers were on) and a notch for the passenger side windshield wiper stop bracket. Not a real big deal. Used my Dremel tool with a sanding bit which made it quick work.

Re: to cowl or not to cowl
I like this hood too. I never would have thought of asking for pics of what it looked like from the drivers seat. It does obstruct the view a little but its not that bad.

I have to say I like the cowl. I had one on my 95 Stang and 04 Dakota. Classic design and always looks good unless you get one to high.

Re: to cowl or not to cowl
Good choice of hoods. I got the bolt on instead of the pin on, but I am sooo glad I did. IMO it looks really clean without those pins holding it on. Either way though, it makes for a very sleek looking car.
