Chassis Pans

I have noticed that European sports cars (Porsches, Ferraris, Aston Martins...) all have their underside covered with these chassis pans (for lack of a better word). I have read that these are a primary reason they make awesome speed with modest horsepower. Why isn't there anything like this for f-bodys?

It doesn't seem to hard to do. Anyone with some knowledge of aerodynamics should be able to build one. I suppose the biggest drawback to trying to build one would be accidentally trapping air and causing lift. That could be worked out, though. I think it would be quite profittable, too...that is, if you make it work right and keep its lift/downforce effects neutral.

Any engineering majors here who need a project for their aerodynamics course?

the pans are used to accelerate the air moving under the car to get it out faster. In some cases it make a little down force...but as for anyone that makes them as of now no luck...
