A pillar removal

How is the A pillar removed?
Do you just ply it loose?
Any special tools required?
Don't know if they are all the same, I have an 87 GTA.

why in the world do you want to remove the A pillar? are you talking about the trim piece inside the car or the actual pillar itself. i dont think you can remove it without taking out the winshield, cutting it out of the roof and where it goes into the cowl.

I'm sure he's talking about the trim. If you have a T-Top car like mine, there are screws at the top of the trim then the rest is held in by plastic fasteners that you CAREFULLY pry off! The fasteners and the trim that holds them is pretty weak so try to be carefull but you will probably break one or two of them getting them off but you should still be able to get them back on.
