a few ? before paint
I have a few ?s before i start layin color on first is i have blocked the car with 320 dry and im gonna give it a good once over with 400 wet is that sufficiant or should i go to 600? Second is im using summit 2 stage paint and it doesnt tell me how long to wait before coats of paint and how long to wait to clear after paint and between coats of clear so what does everyone recomend? I have already done the engine bay andit turned out pretty good but i want to make sure when i do the body i have everything done right. The car will b painted white as it was the factory color. thanks for any help and i will post pics after its painted. I have a ton of hours in this car and i want to make sure its done right

depends on what type of paint and how you reduced it,i would coat the car three times and dry time should be 1-3 hrs most paint bc/cc have a 8 hour window you must clear the car in that time period i suggest under 6hrs though.

Read the tech sheets. Don't go by what someone is telling you on a forum.
Go back to summit's site and find the paint you purchased. They have the techsheets on their site....should look something like this:

You can stop at 400 wet if you are going white. Typically 600 is only needed if you are going with metallics. 600 is obviously not going to hurt anything, but it's extra work.

You're right...Don't listen to someone that has not painted. Not sure why you got offended? It wasn't directed at you.

just to be clear...the link is just an example. Find the tech sheet for the paint you have. Good luck with your car and post up some pics when you're done
