Windshield wipers not moving far enough

Trying to get my windshield wipers to work. The harness has been cut and messed with so I'm just running power straight to the yellow wire coming off the windshield wiper motor.

I pulled the cowl mesh off so I could see if the motor was turning. It was turning just fine. But it wasn't moving far enough. The wipers were only going a couple inches back and forth.

How do I get the blades to travel the correct distance?

In the cowl, the long braces are slotted where it attached to the wiper crank.Turn the wipers on & shut off when they reach their max travel.Loosen the screws & adjust the travel.
There may be another issue though, since the harness is butchered.
