Paint and Body in Northern NJ?
My red 87 Iroc-Z28 has lost the majority of its clear coat and the color has started to chip and fade. Anyone know what shop does good paint and body work on a budget?

I dont want a shitty maaco paint job haha. And I tried to paint a GNX in my autoshop last year, needless to say I'm good with a wrench, bad with a spray gun.

Not all MACCO'S are bad shops, you get what you pay for!!!I didn't have mine done at Maccos, but I've seen some real beauty's that they had done, really nice.

IN body work/paint… cheap and good do not mix. As stated you pay for what you get…
Paints now a days are super easy to work with and cheap. Just got some TA donor doors, body worked them, and shot them with summits brand single stage paint. I did it in a tent, harbor freight HVLP gun and compressor and then yesterday shot it with 2 coats of clear. Ive only painted my car once before and it was a quick job. Sure its got some orange peel and some small crap blew into the paint when drying but my paint job will only cost me $300 including sealer/primer, base+ clear, and clear. Turned out like this… before clear (this was the base/clear only).
I did all the body work myself the original time the car was painted and paid $600 for a friend of a friend to shoot the car only and it was a base and 2 clear coats. Turned out pretty good but a guy bumped into my front bumper and paint was chipping off for a few years (no adhesion promoter). Thats when I started shooting my cars myself… they won't be perfect but will shine and look pretty darn good.
