Hey everyone!

Decided to show what I've done to my bird lately, see what you guys think.

Pretty much got rid of all the engine, trans, suspension, drivetrain,brakes.
Threw in everything new in and did a full restyle/repaint.

No electrics and interior so far, but will be in process soon.

The central trunk piece fits right in (apart from the holes that need to be drilled, obviously). But the corner pieces had to be done almost from scratch.

WOW, looks great! What can you tell me about the ground effects on the quarter panel? It looks like its from a 2nd gen but I can't imagine one fitting that well on a 3rd gen.

They actually sell them.

Over here dealers actually put them on new premium cars that lack this thing from the factory like lexus, etc.

My friend even got a 2017 Camaro with this installed by the dealer. Although, unlike our cars, doors on 6gens close so easily, the things hardly ever get used.

But I have to say they were a real pita to install.

Beautiful car, Max. Great color!

Audi and Saab got my attention with greys like this in the 90s and early 2000s, so I've been thinking of a similar grey for many years, if I ever repainted mine. I will be staying with classic black, but it's great to see a Firebird in that color. Looks as awesome as I thought it would! Great choice. Nice job on everything. A next month's COTM candidate, for sure!

Have a couple likes. So tell us how you fit the mufflers. Did you remove the rear seat cushion bulges to provide room for the mufflers?

There are countless cars, not just Third Gens, that should take a page out of your book. There are endless after market parts on your car, but they all tie in to look like they belong there. Momo wheel is simple and has a firebird emblem, rims have firebird emblems, spoiler is third gen, body kit was an option, and everything that should just be left STOCK on these cars is still stock, but clean. It doesn't look like a car that's made of 100 different brands. It looks excellent man, and it's clear to see how much love went in to it.

Rear louvers however have no business being on ANY car, and should immediately be thrown from the roof of your nearest high-rise building.

Thanks! I've had this hood for years, don't even remember the brand unfortunately. The only thing i remember is it had a yellow hard sticker inside of the hood in the middle.

Thanks! I've loved this color since old porsches. Then audi rs started appearing in it as well and i knew right away i needed to have it! Also it's hard to find a color that some other 3gens don't already have.

Thanks! Thats exactly it. As soon as i put the cage in, it was obvious that anything related to the rear seats was totally useless and at the same moment subframe connectors and all of the strengthening work i did to the underbody made stock route for the exhaust unusable. So everything fell in place. I just dont like low hanging exhaust that looks like it's going to fall off and all the scraping on everything.

Thanks man! It's awesome to see that someone appreciates the small things! I mostly do them for myself as most people notice just the obvious stuff like the hood, etc. Spoiler was a pita as it fits only the camaro fenders.
I usually hate louvers myself on most cars, as they are cheaply made and look like ****. But this one not only looks great to me but also is stock.

Also, that paint reminds me of Ford's Stealth Gray on the Focus RS. I miss that color. Unique yet subtle.

Took a decade or two for those "matte" greys to catch on. But now... Dodge Charger and Challenger, Jeep, Toyota/Scion, Honda, etc.

Love the intake. I've been tossing that idea around for years, for an aftermarket hood that isn't "ram air" of some kind. The front of your hood begins with a stock rake before the raised scoop starts, so does your intake start right behind that point, or does it actually fit underneath the stock portion before the scoop begins?

Didn't want the front wheel "spats," or you don't have them? They might add a visual "drop" to the front end, for a slightly lower appearance. Then again, they might make the front look bulky. I've had a full set for years, but I'm still undecided. I'll probably install them eventually.

And those headlights, how do you like them? Are they JW Speaker or knock-offs?

Yeah. But not everyone likes it. I'm getting either love it ot hate it. Rarely in between.

The intake starts as soon as the cowl goes up and there is absolutely no space there. So it took a few tries to get it done. Also there is no stock latch now obviously.

I really don't like the spats in the front. In the back they add a hotrodish look and some fatness to the whole rear end. So i intentionally did them only in the back.

The headlights are a knock-off since the speakers have really gone down the hill in the past few years. I had a set of 1gen round headlights on a wrangler and they were absolutely awesome. They even had a thick real glass. Newer models have thin plastic and they are much less bright. So you really don't get much for the price difference. I would only recommend the projector style headlights like mine if you are willing to take away all the play in all the headlight linkages and mechanisms. Otherwise 3gen headlights shake alot and you only start to notice that when the light border is very sharp like on all the projectors. On regular reflector headlights there's no sharp border and you don't notice the shaking driving around. I eliminated all the shaking an love the outcome.

Спасибо, доводчики снял, со всеми уплотнителями им не хватает мощности, не закрывают. Магнитола retrosound.

Я с уплотнителями замучился. Только с заводскими двери нормально закрываются, а в хорошем состоянии сложно найти. Думал доводчики помогут.
Не знал что retrosound стали производить магнитолы под 80е. Они должны тебе за рекламу.

Можно и нужно найти оригинальные новые уплотнители, но стоят они дорого. И даже с ними доводчики всё-равно не справляются. Да, я сам удивился, что они стали такие магнитолы делать. С другой стороны логично, машин-то много с таким размером.

Looking at that picture, the lines remind me of a Pterodactyl, from which the legendary/mythical Phoenix was probably evolved or imagined. Pretty cool. How tall is the rear of the cowl? If it's about 4", then that doesn't look as tall as I thought it might look.

I ask because I've been tossing around a couple of hoods, one about 4" high, which looks too tall to me. So if yours is 4", then I guess that doesn't look as tall installed, as it might look uninstalled.

And as if I haven't complimented you and your car enough yet, here's another: LOVE your car!

Yep, the hood is 4".
It seems very tall first couple of days, but then you don't notice it anymore.
Also get ready to add to you least of answers to idiotic questions:
- no, it's not a factory hood
- no, it's not distracting
- yes I do see everything on the road
