Finished drum to LS1 rear discs conversion

Finally did my rear drum to LS1 disc conversion. Here's some pics for those curious. Just a sawzall and a drill, couldn't have been much simplier to install. Have 1LE brakes up front so I used the 1LE prop valve and Valvoline Synpower fluid. Front and rear both using Hawk HPS pads. During testing, the rears will lock up first on dry pavement, so I'm going to try a more aggressive front pad. First though I'm going to try my Random Tech torque arm so see if that has any affect on the rears.

Did you use the backing plate for a template for the holes?

LS1 rear brakes are more often leading due to the e-brake cable routing.

Yep. Used a c-clamp and used the lower 2 drum backing plate bolt holes as a guide to center the disc backing plate before drilling.

Nope. Factory LS1 calipers are leading, but can be positioned either way when modding the drum axle. I chose to use the factory brake line and ebrake bracket which mounts to the LCA axle bracket so I had to make them leading.
