Re: Line Lock instalation

Hmm..most set ups Ive seen with a Line loc have had the prop valve removed. But in any case, since the LL solenoid has to lock both front wheels, you'll need to mount it before the lines split for the front. So basically...if you retain the stock "combo" valve, you'll need to go from the master cylinder, to the LL, then to the combo valve, then split to the front brake calipers.

Its either that, or you have to bring the two front lines together after the combo valve, then go into the LL, then split them again...which just seems silly.

If you are going to plumb it before the combo valve, then you'll obviously need to get creative with the lines. Maybe someone can chime in with some pics for ya. Im not running a stock combo valve, so none of my pics will be of any help.

That help ya any?

J.

That's about the only way I see it being mounted as well. Although, this is the perfect time to ditch the combo valve. I would think there'd be issues with the brake warning light with it mounted there though? One circuit would see pressure when the other wouldn't? At the very least I'd see it tripping the brake indicator when the LL is active, and the worst damaging the internals of the combo valve? I don't know for sure though. I ran a gutted combo with a LL and then eventually just ditched the CV all together.

Re: Line Lock instalation

If it is installed past the combo valve(equalizer valve) it should not effect the brake light switch. My biggest wonder is it what size fittings?

Right. No one said otherwise. I did say that if it was before the combo valve you might have issues, I don't know.

However, I guess you could just cap one port on the combo valve, run one line from the MC to the valve and one from the valve to the LL?

The line lock solenoid gets plumbed in between the master and the proportioning valve......the rear line on the master is the front calipers which you remove and also remove the end from the prop valve...then from the master put a new line going to the ll solenoid.....then from the solenoid a line back into the prop valve....its really easy just did mine this weekend.....just make sure you bleed your brakes after install ....
