is it possible to change our drum breaks to disk breaks with out chnaging the rear end?

or look in the tech section on the home page, there is an article about swapping 4th gen rear dics to a drum axle. I did it years back and it was pretty easy, you have to take the axles out to do, but it just involves cutting the axle flange a little to fit the backing plate, drilling a couple holes and its all bolts up. and it can be done for under 200 bux.
