LT1 brakes fit LS1 rear??

Car: 1987 Firebird, Dad bought it new
Engine: 5.7L Vortec w/ LT4 Hot cam
Transmission: 700r4 transgo shiftkit 2600 stall
Axle/Gears: 3.42 '02 SS 6 spd rear
LT1 brakes fit LS1 rear??

mods if this question has been aswered somewhere else please delete this post and direct me via pm, i did searcha nd turned up no answer, i can get a good deal on an ls1 rear without the brakes... i have a set of brakes from a 96 formula and i was wondering if they would bolt up so i could use them until i get the cash for LS1 brakes all around... thanks for anyones help

With the 96 backing plates, I see no reason why the LT1 rotors/calipers wouldn't bolt up.

The design of the backing plates, 89-97, looks nothing like the 98+, so my guess is that there'd be a fitment issue--beyond the fact that the LS1 rotors are thicker (1.25 vs. 1", IIRC) and wouldn't accept the earlier calipers.
