been all over the boards and not sure what is wrong and I am getting lazy and don't want to take out the entire brake system.

the pedal is mushy but the car stops. then the pedal is low but after a few stops it seems to get better then goes low again.

the wierd part is that when I sit at a stop with my foot on the brake with pressure, the darn pedal starts rising from where it was.

what would cause that- a rising brake pedal. and yes i have lots of brake left front and back and i don't see any leaks.

would bleed them if it were not for the brake pedal rising thing - if I have to do anything I want to do it all at once.

any suggestions?

its air. bleed away.

have you ever let the master run dry or changed it? if you did, it has top be bench bled, or you will never get all the air out of it.

Since you have to bleed anyway, replace the rubber hoses from chassis to wheel - there are 3, 2 front and one rear. New brake hoses make a world of difference!

Three lines for drums. If the OP should have PBR's in his 90, there would be five lines.

thanks everyone it's down and under this weekend for bleeding and hoses.

no it never ran dry - and the brakes are about a year old and this is not a daily driver, at least it wasn't until some bitch ran a red and took out our other car.

well finally did it and now that pedal is high and tight, unfortunately now it is hard to push. Guess that might mean a new power brake system, but I will look into it in more detail.
sort of like not having power brakes, but it stops ok.
I guess I am just getting lazy, and I hurt from when this lady totaled us out.
Thanks again everyone - now back to search out hard pedal.

Check the obvious, and make sure you didn't dislodge the
booster vacuum line during any of the other activity.

Go ahead, ask me how I know this might be the problem.
