brake upgrade issues

Hey all, I have a 1991 Z28 and after the LS swap I upgraded the brakes to the brakes I pulled off the donor car (2001 TA). I am also running a 2001 SS rearend with disc brakes (stock for 2001). Ok so I changed the prop. valve spring out for one from my 1992 ZR-1 MC ( had a spare upgrade spring ) bled the brakes and now I have a few issues: The pedal gets hard as hell then I start it and it gets soft, I hear alittle hiss from under the dash so I assume Booster has a bad seal, ok no biggie swap it out but before I do that I noticed that my MC is geysering when brakes are pressed. I use a power Vac to bleed the brakes and have bled and bled these brakes over and over and bubbles just keep on coming. I have no leaks what so ever. I also cracked the lines at the MC while pedal is depressed trying to bleed that. I have a few issues going on and not sure why. The Z28 had 60,000 on it when I did the swap and brakes where fine until I tried to stop from high speeds hence the upgrade. I have been messing with it for a few days and I believe I need someone to break the ice cause I am getting frustrated! thanks for any input!

Re: brake upgrade issues

geysering is normal, keep the cover on when bleeding

Bad booster would give you a hard pedal all the time, hard then softer when you start is normal

If you got bubbles, you got a leak, bleed your master first with lines dumping back into reservoir, then move on from there.

Re: brake upgrade issues

ok, well I got a rebuilt MC for 20 at Orileys bench bled it put it on went around car and checked everything no leaks (visible leaks). So I start the car pedal depresses about 1-2 inches soft then firms up, this is after a good bleeding process btw, the thing is the MC still geysers, I guess it must be normal, I thought that meant the No return seal in the MC is bad. Anyway I'm am gonna run it around see how they work then hope the problems are gone!

Anyone give me a part number for braided brake lines for the front w/ ls brake conversion? I am running stock but I need to upgrade these, thanks!
