Anyone want to trade a 5 speed Z28 for a ZX1000 Ninja?
1986 Kawasaki ZX1000 Ninja for possible trade for third gen, preferably 5 speed, and preferably in LA, but I might travel to bring a nice one back.
I have a pretty nice 1986 Kawasaki Ninja ZX 1000 (ZX1000A) for sale. Bike has 27,000 miles, and runs and drives very well. I recently had it tuned up, valves adjusted, carbs rebuilt and cleaned, and replaced the brakes and the battery. (All work done by a local motorcyle shop, not by me!) The bike also has a Corbin Gunfigther seat that I recently had professionally recovered in leather. The tires appear to have at least 90% tread. It has a Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust.
There are a few scrapes on it, and a crack in the plastic on one side, but not something you would notice in passing. It needs a rear mud guard and license plate holder - the plate is held on by zip ties. It can be ordered for $60 from Kawasaki, but I haven't gotten around to ordering it.
Registration is current and paid until next year, and I have the title in hand.
This is actually a great bike, and I would keep it, but it seems to be most comfortable going fast - and I don't really want to go that fast This bike is probably better suited for someone that wants to go real fast.
I bought the bike recently, and spent $1400 getting it mechanically perfect, so this is a good opportunity to get a bike that runs great and won't let you down. And hey, just in time for winter!
Questions? Email me or call (310) 271-7242
Thanks! Rob
